The Sonora Police Department reported the following:


11:30 a.m., fight - A bus driver and passenger were arguing because the passenger was refusing to pay fare and would not exit the bus. Officers were unable to locate the passenger.

11:51 a.m., reckless driving - A car slammed on its brakes causing the vehicle behind it to swerve.

12:46 a.m., assault - A 33-year-old man was arrested on Restano Way on suspicion of battery.

1:21 p.m., vandalism - Someone was scratching windows of a vehicle, which also had dents, on Mono Way.

1:37 p.m., hazard - A woman was walking into traffic on Mono Way near Barretta Street.

The Sheriff's Office reported the following:


11:48 a.m., Big Oak Flat - A mud or rock slide was blocking the roadway at Old Priest Grade and Highway 120.

8:10 p.m., East Sonora - A man was drinking all day at a restaurant on the 14700 block of Mono Way and was being rude to female employees. He was asked to leave and started yelling. Deputies were unable to locate him.



5:37 p.m., Groveland - A flue fire was reported on Second Garotte Ridge Road.

Felony bookings


6:05 p.m., Sonora area - Janice Karen Leslie, 43, of the 18400 block of Fir Avenue, Tuolumne, was booked on suspicion of failure to appear on bail while in custody for other charges.



8:32 a.m., San Andreas - Gate and storage locks on George Reed Road were cut and a propane cylinder was stolen.

8:41 a.m., Murphys - A large bull was in a yard on East Highway 4. The owner was contacted and the bull secured.

9:19 a.m., Copperopolis - A vehicle fire was reported on the 100 block of Reeds Turnpike.

11:50 a.m., San Andreas - A window in the back of a house on Sunset Street was shot out, possibly by a pellet gun.

Noon, Angels Camp - A fight between occupants of a truck was reported at the intersection of highways 4 and 49. The vehicle was gone when deputies arrived.

12:57 p.m., Valley Springs - Items were stolen from a locked vehicle on Gold Creek Drive.

1:15 p.m., San Andreas - Someone was speeding up and down Foothill Court on a dirt bike.

9:40 p.m., Arnold - A "pushing match" was reported on Highway 4.

11:24 p.m., San Andreas - Four or five men were fighting on the 400 block of West Saint Charles Street.


7:10 a.m., Valley Springs - Vandalism was reported on Gold Creek Drive.

Felony bookings


9:11 a.m., Valley Springs - Roger Wayne Anderson, 52, of the 10500 block of Thompson Way, was booked on suspicion of taking a vehicle without the owner's consent and possession of drugs after an arrest on the 2200 block of Grouse Way. He was also booked on suspicion of misdemeanor charges of possession of unlawful paraphernalia and violation of probation.
