The Sheriff's Office reported the following:


11:03 a.m., Tuolumne - Someone without insurance hit another car with their vehicle, and a small fight ensued on the 18758 block of Carter Street.

12:49 p.m., Sonora area - Fraudulent charges of about $500 were made on a West America debit card in Mexico. The card belonged to a resident of the 18200 block of Jacobs Road.

1 p.m., Columbia - An officer counseled a Columbia Elementary School student regarding a knife he found at school on the 22500 block of Parrotts Ferry Road, then tried to hide from a teacher.

1 p.m., East Sonora - A suspect was seen on video shoplifting a bottle of wine from a store on the 13700 block of Mono Way.

6:28 p.m., East Sonora - A woman left Kohls on the 13700 block of Mono Way with stolen merchandise.

The Sonora Police Department reported the following:


9:18 a.m., suspicious circumstances - A man sleeping in front of a business on South Washington Street turned out not to be drunk but was sleeping there to get out of the rain. He was advised to sleep somewhere else.

10:24 a.m., school assist - An intoxicated student was transported home by an officer and suspended from school for three days on the 400 block of North Washington Street.

11:58 a.m., theft - Medications were taken from a church library on Snell Street.

1:03 p.m., fraud - A Shaws Flat Road man was told by a credit card company that $1,552.78 was charged on his card in Colorado. The charge was reversed.

1:23 p.m., theft - A license plate was stolen off a parked vehicle on Highway 49.

6:54 p.m., theft - A transient woman stole a volunteer's jacket at St. James Episcopal Church on Snell Street. The woman was found and arrested.

9:50 p.m., theft - A man who stole from Wal-Mart and ran towards Old Wards Ferry Road was caught and arrested.

Felony bookings


12:12 a.m., Twain Harte - Richard James Peters, 42, of an unknown address on Black Hawk Drive in Twain Harte, booked on suspicion of possessing a narcotic controlled substance after arrest at Joaquin Gully and Meadow Lane in Twain Harte.

7:25 p.m., Sonora - Kelly Denise Williams of the 20100 block of Jamestown Road, Sonora, booked on suspicion of felony petty theft with prior convictions and a misdemeanor charge of receiving known stolen property after arrest on the 200 block of Mono Way.

10:23 p.m., Sonora - Daniel Lee Clancy, 27, 20000 block of Rough and Ready Trail, Sonora, booked on a felony charge of petty theft with prior convictions after arrest on the 1100 block of Sanguinetti Road.


The Calaveras County Sheriff's Department reported the following:


2:26 p.m., San Andreas - Someone vandalized Treats General Store on East Saint Charles Street.

4:05 p.m., Copperopolis - David Glen Childs, 36, of the 900 block of Feather Court, Copperopolis, booked on suspicion of assault and child cruelty that could result in injury or death after arrest on the 900 block of Feather Court.
