Possible drowning victim identified

By Alex MacLean, The Union Democrat

Search and rescue crews have found the body of a Rio Vista man who went missing after jumping from the Jacksonville Bridge into Lake Don Pedro on Saturday.

Tuolumne County Sheriff's Sgt. Jeff Wilson said sometime yesterday afternoon searchers found the deceased Bernard Duane Lynch, 32, but didn't know the exact time the discovery was made.

Wilson added that earlier reports regarding the reason for the man jumping from the bridge were incorrect and the circumstances surrounding his death remain under investigation.
