Shotgun-wielding wife still in county jail

By Alex MacLean / The Union Democrat

A San Andreas woman accused of attempted murder after authorities say she fired three shotgun blasts at her ex-boyfriend's home was denied reduced bail in court Wednesday, according to the Calaveras County District Attorney's Office.

Kelly Marie Linneman, 35, pleaded not guilty to several charges related to the incident and unsuccessfully argued in Calaveras County Superior Court on Wednesday for her $575,000 bail to be reduced.

She remained in Calaveras County Jail as of Wednesday night, according to officials.

Linneman was arrested Oct. 4 at her home on the 300 block of Neilsen Street after Calaveras County Sheriff's deputies were called to the area to investigate reported gunshots.

The Sheriff's Office says Linneman fired upon the nearby home of John Ramirez, 42, while he and his two children were sleeping. No one was hurt and the Sheriff's Office believes the incident may be related to a domestic dispute.

Linneman denied trying to injure or kill Ramirez and deputies suspected she was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the incident, the Sheriff's Office said.

A preliminary hearing in Linneman's case is set for Nov. 6, according to the District Attorney's Office.
