The Sheriff's Office reported the following:


8:27 a.m., Standard area - A construction company reported theft of "very expensive" metal from the bypass project at Peaceful Oak Road at Highway 108.

8:40 a.m., Twain Harte - A woman on the 18700 block of Sugar Pine Drive said her neighbor said a man in a truck pulled into her driveway and entered her home Wednesday night. The caller said she'd been in the shower at the time and heard her dogs barking but never had any contact with the man. The neighbor thought she knew him and didn't say anything until the Thursday morning.

10:18 a.m., Sonora area - A woman on the 19400 block of Serrano Road said a man threw a rock at her foot and punched another woman in the face.

6:52 p.m., Sonora area - A man on the 16500 block of Caddo Circle said he heard a noise in his upstairs and went to look and found a man with a black hoodie in his home. The unknown man hit the caller in the face and ran off. The living room had been rummaged through.

7:31 p.m., Twain Harte - A man stole beer from a mini-mart on the 22900 block of Joaquin Gully Road.

9:58 p.m., Columbia - An intoxicated woman was yelling at people outside a bar on Columbia Street and as she walked down Italian Bar Road.

Felony bookings


1:16 p.m., Standard area - Anthony Joseph Richter, 23, of the 19600 block of Serrano Road, booked on suspicion of assault and assault with a deadly weapon, after an arrest on Mono Way at Standard Road.

2:24 p.m., Sonora - Kevin Ross Davis, 19, of Turlock, booked on suspicion of selling or transporting marijuana after an arrest on Shaws Flat Road at North Washington Street.

4 p.m., Copperopolis - Brian Marc Paul, 35, of the 300 block of Deerfield Circle, Copperopolis, booked on suspicion of burglary after an arrest on Copper Meadow Drive at O'Byrnes Ferry Road.


Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs:


10:21 p.m., Twain Harte - Donn Lanier Gilbert, 42, of an unknown address, arrested at Highway 108 at Lower Twain Harte Drive.

The Sonora Police Department reported the following:


10:31 a.m., drugs - Two students were suspended for being under the influence of drugs on the 400 block of North Washington Street.


The Sheriff's Office reported the following:


11 a.m., Avery - Rims and tires were stolen from a vehicle on Highway 4.

1:29 p.m., Valley Springs - A yard ornament was stolen on Hogan Dam Road.

3:57 p.m., Arnold - Wood was stolen on the Arnold Byway.

4:55 p.m., Murphys - A home was broken into on French Gulch Road.
