The Sonora Police Department reported the following:


10:44 a.m., fraudulent activities - A man on North Stewart Street said someone attempted to use his debit card at a Las Vegas bank.

4:10 p.m., public intoxication - A 56-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication after he was allegedly found yelling profanities while sitting in a white vehicle parked at the end of an apartment complex on Greenley Road.

4:28 p.m., burglary - Someone reported a burglary at a residence on Oakside Drive but said nothing appeared to be missing.

9:19 p.m., theft - A woman on Sanguinetti Road said gasoline was possibly siphoned from her vehicle sometime between Friday morning and Monday evening.

The Sheriff's Office reported the following:


8:14 a.m., Jamestown - Someone said they found a woman's purse and other belongings strewn about a back lot on the 18200 block of Highway 108.

8:51 a.m., Sonora area - A man on the 14800 block of Curtis Circle said someone fraudulently charged $70 to his credit card in New York City.

9:25 a.m., Sonora area - Someone said a stone bench was stolen from a rental property on the 18300 block of Wards Ferry Road.

9:35 a.m., Jamestown - A woman on the 10700 block of Wigwam Road said someone fraudulently charged $9.98 to her credit card. When she called the company where the charge originated from, a man told her she must pay $400 or he will blow up her computer. The woman said she closed her account and a repairman was going to check her computer.

3:19 p.m., East Sonora - Someone at a grocery store on the 13700 block of Mono Way said employees saw a man allegedly putting Kool Aid packets in his pockets. The man bought other groceries but refused to empty his pockets when confronted. The Sheriff's Office was called to document the incident in case there are future issues.


The Sheriff's Office reported the following:


8:35 a.m., Valley Springs - A burglary occurred on McAtee Street.

1:55 p.m., Arnold - A report was taken for a suspicion person near the U.S. Post Office on Blagen Road.

2:58 p.m., Valley Springs - Grand theft occurred on Dunn Road.

3:01 p.m., Copperopolis - A theft occurred on Little John Road.

Felony bookings


2:05 p.m., Angels Camp - John Edward Steele II, 21, of the 4100 block of Ponderosa Way, was booked on suspicion of vehicle theft and possession of a stolen vehicle, after an arrest on the 600 block of Coppello Drive.


Cited on suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs:


4:04 p.m., San Andreas - Walter Louis Stout, 69, of the 400 block of Russell Road, was arrested on Highway 49 north of Treat Avenue.
