Planners tackle housing projects

Union Democrat staff

Tuolumne County Planning Commissioners will have a busy meeting Wednesday as the agenda includes two proposed subdivisions and two other land-use proposals in the county.

One of the items is a 22-acre project that, if approved, would create nine parcels between about two and three acres located near Apple Colony Road in Tuolumne.

According to meeting documents, applicant Darlene Mae Stieler is

looking to change the property's zoning to allow additional residential

development on the separate plots.

The proposal also calls for almost eight acres of open space as

part of the subdivision, as well as establishing a county service area

through the Local Agency Formation Commission to provide road and

drainage maintenance.

The county Planning Commission meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. at

the County Administration Center at 2 S. Green St. in Sonora.

Also scheduled for Wednesday's meeting:

• An application to divide a 10.3-acre property on Confidence South Fork Road, near Twain Harte, into three-acre parcels.

• A request to change zoning status of two-acre site on Edgemont

Acres Road, East Sonora, from residential to general commercial.

• A proposal to adjust lot lines on about 1,500 acres of land on

Montezuma Road west of Jamestown currently under conservation by the

Williamson Land Act.
