Medical meeting

The Angels Camp Business Association will host leaders of Mark Twain St. Joseph's Hospital to discuss the upcoming construction of a new family medical center in the city at its next monthly meeting.

The meeting will begin with a 5:30 p.m. social period and a program at 6 p.m. Monday at 1211 S. Main St. in Angels Camp. Parking and entrance are on Rasberry Lane.

Construction will begin this year on the new Angels Camp Family Medical Center and

Women's Medical Center at Stanislaus Avenue near Main Street.

The presentation is a chance to hear about the services and opportunities to be offered at the new medical center and to see the plans and drawings for the project before construction begins in a few months.

Larry Cornish, the hospital's vice president of facilities and project development; Peggy Lucas, executive director of the Hospital Foundation; Nicki Stevens, manager of marketing and business development for the hospital; and Jim Simmons, president of Tassajara Development Corp., the developer of the project, will be there to discuss the project. Paul Mundy Jr., Hospital Foundation development associate, also will speak about the Doris Barger Golf Tournament that benefits the foundation.

Members of the Angels Camp business community are welcome to share information at the meeting. They also are encouraged to introduce themselves and their businesses at the start of the meeting and bring any marketing material they wish to share.

The Sonora High Ag Boosters will host its second annual fundraising dinner at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 24 at the Elks Lodge.

Social hour begins at 5:30 and dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m.

The menu will include New York steak, baked potatoes, green beans, green salad, garlic bread and dessert.

The cost is $25 per person, $15 for children six to 12. There will be a raffle and wagon wheel bench door prize. Tickets are available at Hurst Feed, Radovich Feed, Sonora Feed, Sonora Inn Barber Shop or Tractor Supply, or by calling 694-8679 or 770-2369.
