Don Fry Realty in Arnold announced a merger with Century 21, Sierra Properties, also of Arnold.

After 32 years, Don and Beverly Fry closed their realty office and

moved into the Arnold office of Century 21 at 2075 Highway 4, across

from the Meadowmont Shopping Center.

The Frys continue to both list and sell real estate and can be reached at 795-4441.

They plan to sell their former building at 1027 Highway 4, near the Bank of America Arnold branch.

Tax program

The AARP Tax Aide Program will be offering free federal and state

tax return assistance to middle and lower income individuals every

Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Feb. 7 through April 10 at the

Tuolumne County Senior Center, 540 Greenley Road, Sonora.

Assistance will be offered by certified counselors, with special attention being given to those age 60 and older.

Those requiring assistance should bring a copy of their previous

year's tax return, all 2011 W-2 and 1099 forms, any information sent by

the IRS, and any documentation that may help reduce taxes.

Free electronic filing is also available, which, along with direct

deposit, will allow you to receive your refund in about a week.

This is a walk in site, so no appointment is necessary.

Macworld - iWorld, the nation's premier event focused solely on the

Apple products platform, will be highlighted when the Sierra Macintosh

User Group meets next in Arnold.

SMUG moves to its winter home and schedule, with a 2 p.m. meeting

on Tuesday, Feb. 14, in the community room of the Murphys Library, 480

Park Lane, adjacent to Murphys Park.

Throughout the rest of the year, SMUG holds its monthly evening meetings at the Arnold firehouse.

There will be no January meeting.

This year's Macworld - iWorld will be held Jan. 26 through 28 in

San Francisco's Moscone Center. Mac users and buyers, top media outlets

and industry experts go to the event annually to meet face-to-face, see

new products, experience an acclaimed technical training and

educational program and participate in cultural and social

opportunities that set the agenda for the Apple products industry.

SMUG meetings are open to everyone and there is no charge to attend.

SMUG is a nonprofit organization run completely by volunteers.
