The Sheriff's Office reported the following:


12:15 a.m., Groveland - A man said there were 25 people in his house on the 19900 block of Ridgecrest Way and would not leave. He said they showed up in groups of two or three and are with a church group that needed a place to stay.

8:01 a.m., Strawberry - Someone requested extra patrol at night around Pinecrest School on Old Strawberry Road because there was broken beer bottles in the parking lot.

8:33 a.m., Jamestown - Someone on the 19100 block of Golden Dove Lane said a truck load of trash was dumped in a lot next to the residence.

9:18 a.m., Columbia - A woman on the 11000 block of State Street said she left her vehicle unlocked overnight and someone stole a spare key out of it.

5:36 p.m., Tuolumne - A woman on 18400 block of Main Street said three fraudulent checks in the total amount of $245 were written to her husband's bank account.

Felony bookings


12:30 p.m., Soulsbyville - Kevin Allen Carlen, 41, and Sara Elizabeth Stevens, 25, both of the 17100 block of Alderman Road, Sonora, were booked on suspicion of child endangerment, after an arrest on the 20600 block of Soulsbyville Road. Carlen was additionally booked on suspicion of drug possession for sales.


Cited on suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs:


10 p.m., Tuolumne - George Arthur Holcomb, 63, of French Camp, was arrested on Tuolumne Road at Woodham Carne Road.

The Sonora Police Department reported the following:


11:04 a.m., traffic accidents - A vehicle hit a bicyclist on Stockton Road. The cyclist sustained minor abrasions and refused medical treatment. The incident was reported as a possible hit-and-run involving a tan Cadillac Escalade that was last seen headed towards Jamestown.

12:27 p.m., theft - A Sonora High School student's wallet was stolen from a classroom and a theft report was taken.

3:29 p.m., fraudulent activities - A man on Barretta Street said there were fraudulent charges made to his credit card.

6:22 p.m., burglary - A woman on North Arbona Circle got home to find items missing and broken in her garage. The door connecting to the house was ajar, so she called police who took a burglary report.

9:30 p.m., burglary - Someone stole a black briefcase out of a vehicle parked in a lot on the 600 block of South Washington Street. The briefcase contained about $500 in cash and checks.


The Sheriff's Office reported the following:


9:43 a.m., Copperopolis - Someone said a theft occurred on Sequoia Circle.

10:07 a.m., Valley Springs - There was a report of vandalism on Highway 12.

3:52 p.m., Valley Springs - A residence on Hedgpeth Road was burglarized.

7:25 p.m., Valley Springs - A 70-year-old man was arrested for misdemeanor battery on Paolini Road.
