The Sheriff's Office reported the following:


3:55 a.m., Tuolumne - Security guards at Black Oak Casino found a bag of suspected methamphetamine in the cafe and turned it over to deputies.

10:16 a.m., Columbia - A window appeared to be broken out at a business on the 22200 block of Parrotts Ferry Road.

10:39 a.m., Columbia - A man on the 11700 block of Yankee Hill Road said his cell phone, charger and a pack of cigarettes were stolen from his vehicle sometime overnight.

10:45 a.m., Columbia area - Someone painted both lanes of the roadway and a sign with vulgarities on the 16100 block of Big Hill Road.

11:11 a.m., Sonora area - Someone on the 20000 block of Rawhide Road said a credit card number was fraudulently used to make purchases totaling $685.

11:25 a.m., Soulsbyville - Someone on the 20900 block of Creek Court said a bank card number was fraudulently used to make purchases totaling $500.

2:35 p.m., Jamestown - A residence on the 13800 block of Twist Road was burglarized.

2:47 p.m., La Grange - A man near a shop on the 5000 block of La Grange Road appeared to be fighting imaginary people with a stick before getting in his truck and heading towards Sonora on J59.

9:34 p.m., Sonora area - Cheryl Ann Swenson, 41, of the 6900 block of Lon Dale Road, Oakdale, was booked on suspicion of drug possession, after an arrest on Highway 108 at Via Este Road.

The Sonora Police Department reported the following:


8:35 a.m., burglary - An employee at a grocery store on the 600 block of South Washington Street said she parked her car in the employee lot on the side of the building about 7:30 a.m. A window was broken out and items were stolen when she returned to her vehicle about an hour later.

12:47 p.m., theft - Someone on Crooked Lane reported the theft of a cell phone.

3:41 p.m., burglary - A woman said someone broke into her residence on Ridge Road through the window while she was out of town over the past couple of days and may have stolen some jewelry and cash.

5:26 p.m., lost property - A man reported that his girlfriend lost her waitress book with about $536 cash inside somewhere along South Washington Street.

11:19 a.m., Copperopolis - A property owner's association was vandalized on Poker Flat Road.

2 p.m., Valley Springs - A report was taken for petty theft on Huckleberry Lane.

2:19 p.m., Valley Springs - A vehicle burglary occurred on Stagecoach Drive.

4:10 p.m., Wallace - A pump house was vandalized on Leslie Court at Ospital Road.

3:55 p.m., Angels Camp area - David Lee Copeland, 28, of the 3600 block of Poag Road, Vallecito, was booked on suspicion of vehicle theft and receiving known stolen property, after an arrest on Highway 4 east of Stallion Way.

5:30 p.m., Valley Springs - Fernando Piedra, 22, of the 900 block of Quail Oaks Road, was booked on suspicion of drug possession and possession of drugs for sale, after an arrest at his home.


11 p.m., Copperopolis - James Richard Harris Jr., 25, of the 5700 block of North Montpelier Road, was booked on suspicion of vandalism, after an arrest at Lake Tulloch Resort.


8:15 p.m., Valley Springs - John David Means, 29, of the 100 block of Alaska Street, Turlock, was booked on suspicion of drug possession, after an arrest near Highways 12 and 26.

4:17 a.m., Hathaway Pines - Mark David Fields, 42, of the 5100 block of Hill Crest Drive, was arrested on the 5600 block of Horse Drive.


4:55 p.m., Valley Springs - Jose Carmen Lopez Magdaleno, 71, of the 2200 block of East Fremont Street, Stockton, was arrested on Silver Rapids Road at Laurent Lane.

The California Highway Patrol reported the following accidents:


12:19 p.m., San Andreas - Kwong Shek Lau, 57, of Murphys, was driving his 2005 Toyota van north on Highway 49. His vehicle left the roadway just north of Carol Kennedy Road and struck a large fallen tree, causing major front-end damage. Lau was taken to Mark Twain St. Joseph's Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
