Burgess named Gatewood GM

Gatewood Heating and Air Conditioning in Sonora recently named Jeff Burgess the business's new general manager.

Burgess will oversee day-to-day operations of the heating and air conditioning installation business. He will be in charge of doing estimates, ordering equipment and managing Gatewood's 10 employees.

Burgess was hired three weeks ago following the departure of co-owner Wayne Walker, who sold his interest in the company to Ken Carter and Glenn Lewis. Gatewood has been in operation since 1974, and has been under its current ownership for about the past 8 years, Burgess said.

The company provides residential and commercial heating and air conditioning installations throughout Tuolumne and Calaveras counties, and has roughly 4,500 customers.

Gatewood will host a "meet the new manager" barbecue on Nov. 5 at 18970 Industry Way in Sonora.
