JG Signs & Designs will host the Historic Sonora Chamber of Commerce mixer from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, at 226 W. Jackson St. in Sonora.

New restaurant

Patty's Shack, a gourmet cafe, opened March 22 at 22267 Parrotts Ferry Road in Sonora.

The cafe will offer American and Greek cuisine, homestyle cooking and friendly service.

It will be open daily from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. as well Friday and Saturday Nights from 4 to 9 p.m.

Owner Patricia S. Tolhurst has been living in Tuolumne County for more than 25 years and has worked in various restaurants throughout the community, including Kennedy Meadows.

Recognition

Farmers Insurance agent Jeremy Mankins was inducted into the Farmers' Toppers Club for being a top sales producer at the Farmers Insurance branch in Sonora, 149 S. Shepherd St.

Chamber raffle

The Calaveras County Chamber of Commerce is selling raffle tickets for a chance to win a 2.65 ounce gold nugget.

Raffle tickets are $50 each and 400 will be sold.

The drawing will be scheduled once all of the raffle tickets are sold.

The gold nugget will be on display at Firefall Jewelers, 1259 South Main St., Angels Camp. Raffle tickets can be bought at Firefall Jewelers, or at the Calaveras County Chamber of Commerce office, 1241 S. Main St., Angels Camp. For more information, call 736-2580 or go to www.calaveras.org.
