One woman drowned, another injured in Don Pedro boating accident

One woman in drowned and a second woman was severely

injured after a boat capsized on Lake Don Pedro on Monday night.

A rescue team was unable to find the missing woman until Tuesday

morning, when her body was retrieved from the north side of the

reservoir, near Fleming Meadows Recreation Area, according to the Tuolumne County Sheriff's Office. The deceased woman's

name was being withheld pending the notification of next of kin.

A second unidentified woman was injured after the boat she was

riding in capsized shortly after the first woman went missing.

Authorities were still investigating the incident late Tuesday, but do not suspect foul play was involved.
