‘Fresh Fridays’ begin June 3 in Angels Camp

Union Democrat staff

"Fresh Fridays," the Angels Camp certified farmers market, will run each Friday evening in Utica Park from June 3 to Sept. 16. The market begins at 5 p.m. and closes at dusk.

Utica Park is in the historic downtown district of Angels Camp just off South Main Street.

Locally grown fresh certified produce with a variety of seasonal fruits, vegetables and nuts will be offered. Gardeners can peruse local nursery selections and vendors will sell seeds and starters packs to take home.

Fresh baked goods from breads to cupcakes are offered from Calaveras

County-based bakers as well as gourmet chocolates, jams, curds, honeys

and olive oils. Shady Oak Ranch will offer grass-fed beef for purchase

and local vendors' award-winning barbecue sauces will also be available.

Hot prepared foods from Lunch Lady Catering, hot dogs and gourmet

sandwiches and salads will be featured. The Angels Camp Business

Association will sell local wines, beer and refreshments and live

entertainment is planned each week including Kids Nights, Salsa Night

and Healthy Home Nights.

Market chef tours and wine tastings from local wineries also are

planned. A schedule of events is on the Web at www.facebook.com/angels

campfarmersmarket.
