Angels Camp hires interim leader

Michael Kay, The Union Democrat

Angels Camp announced today that the city has hired a new administrator, who will serve as interim city administrator, fire chief and director of the city's water and wastewater operations.

The city announced the selection in a terse statement this afternoon, giving no biographical information about their new employee other than his name: David Richards.

"We're pleased just to have a person of his experience," said Mayor Jack Lynch, who referred questions about Richard's previous positions to Councilman Craig Turco.

Turco could not be reached before press time.

Richards will start work on Monday.
