Two San Andreas residents are wanted by the Calaveras County Sheriff's Department in connection with at least 25 burglaries in the past six years, most within walking distance of the house where the suspects live.

Arrest warrants were issued Thursday for George Glessman, 47, and Lindsey Blackledge, 19. The warrants charge each suspect with more than 20 counts of burglary and possession of stolen property.

Two weeks ago, the sheriff's department uncovered more than $20,000 worth of stolen tools, jewelry and other odds and ends stashed inside a house on the 100 block of St. Charles Street that Glessman and Blackledge were renting.

Calaveras County Sheriff's Detective Chris Villegas said Blackledge knew Glessman because she was dating his son.

The son, Joe Glessman, 24, is in a state prison. He has served one year of a four-year sentence for burglary in Calaveras County, Villegas said. Joe Glessman and Blackledge were living together elsewhere, and after he went to prison, Blackledge moved in with his father.

Although Blackledge and Glessman were the ones paying rent for the house, Villegas said other people have stayed there on a short-term basis.

Villegas said deputies have only a few "word of mouth" leads on Glessman's and Blackledge's whereabouts.

"They'll show up sooner or later," said Villegas, who is leading the investigation. "They can't hide in the county for too long."

After the stolen property was found, investigators thought the burglaries had occurred within the past two years.

That theory changed, though, when representatives of the San Andreas Sanitation District recently recovered drill bits and power tools among the recovered loot that had been stolen from the district six years ago.

Villegas said the total value of the stolen property remains unknown.

"We have a lot of property, and we're still going through it," Villegas said.

Property owners have reclaimed about a quarter of the items found at the suspects' house about $25,000 worth of goods, Villegas said.
