10:19 a.m., Sonora Meadows A caller said two men wearing black jackets were trying to get into a home on Creekside Drive.

11:20 a.m., Twain Harte A man on the 22600 block of Spruce Drive said a .9 mm pistol was stolen from his house.

12:06 p.m., East Sonora A nurse at Indian Rock Prompt Care said a doctor was treating a person who was allegedly assaulted three days ago.

3:02 p.m., East Sonora A sheriff's sergeant detained four people who had shot a buck on the 19100 block of Hillsdale Drive. The sergeant was waiting for a Fish and Game warden to assist.

3:13 p.m., Mi-Wuk Village A woman said her children found a mountain bike in bushes near Pine Lake Drive.

4:28 p.m., Columbia A man said teens threw eggs at his wife's car while she was on Parrotts Ferry Road near Columbia State Historic Park. The woman said the teens were verbally abusive toward her when she stopped to talk to them.

4:48 p.m., Tuolumne An employee at Wayne's Mini-Mart on the 18300 block of Tuolumne Road reported receiving a counterfeit $5 bill from a teen-age boy who said he got it as change from a school.

Felony bookings


5:05 p.m., Sonora Steven Mitchell Knowlton, 31, 4800 block of Rue Tours Court, San Jose, booked on a warrant for his arrest on felony spousal battery and failure to appear after he turned himself in at the county probation office. He remained in custody this morning in lieu of $10,000 bail.

Daniel Michael Mullen, 60, 11900 block of Mountain Springs Court, Groveland, booked at 7:39 p.m. Thursday after arrest on Highway 49 south of Simms Road, Chinese Camp.

David William Stitt, 60, 22200 block of Parrotts Ferry Road, Sonora, booked at 10:40 p.m. after arrest at Tuolumne General Hospital.

Anthony Bruce Ortega, 23, 23100 block of Borden Road, Sonora, booked at 1:26 a.m. today after arrest on Morning Star Drive, Sonora.

6:51 a.m., found property A woman said she found a driver's license on Linoberg Street during her morning walk.

7:08 a.m., theft A Tuolumne Utilities District employee reported the theft of one or more items from the utility's treatment plant on Southgate Drive. The report was not complete this morning.

7:55 a.m., suspicious circumstances A caller on the 20200 block of Jamestown Road said there was a woman at her front door who couldn't find her own house.

8:43 a.m., suspicious circumstances An employee at Cars to Go on the first block of Pesce Way said one of its customers had a car stolen, possibly in Columbia.

10:25 a.m., parking A Sierra Railroad employee said a car was too close to the railroad tracks at South Washington Street and Hospital Road.

12:19 p.m., controlled substance A Sonora High School student was cited for suspected possession of less than 28.5 grams of marijuana and released.

1:28 p.m., controlled substance A Sonora High School student was cited and released for suspected possession of less than 28.5 grams of marijuana.

6:43 p.m., traffic accident A non-injury crash was reported on North Washington Street at School Street.

7:17 p.m., lost property A woman said she lost a wallet that contained $16 cash at a business on the 1200 block of Sanguinetti Road on Nov. 27.

8:44 p.m., theft A 33-year-old woman was cited and released on suspicion of shoplifting from Mervyn's. According to a police report, the woman tried to take $60 worth of clothing before being stopped by store security who called for an officer.

8:11 a.m., Arnold A purse was reported stolen from a business on the 1000 block of Cypress Point Drive.

12:21 p.m., Burson A caller said a construction worker was seen urinating in public at a construction site on the 2200 block of Evans Road.

Felony bookings


9 a.m., San Andreas Steve Jonathan Cassel, 34, 4500 block of Filly Lane, Angels Camp, turned himself in on a warrant charging him with possessing a controlled substance and the misdemeanor of possessing a hypodermic needle. He remained in custody this morning in lieu of $25,000 bail.

9 p.m., Fricot City A 40-year-old Valley Springs man was booked on suspicion of felony spousal battery after an arrest in Fricot City. He remained in custody this morning in lieu of $50,000 bail.

Randy Dean Gorsuch, 46, 300 block of Mariposa Street, booked at 3:28 p.m. Wednesday after arrest on Highway 49 north of Highway 12, San Andreas.

Mark Joseph Olkowski, 52, 2600 block of Golden Gate Drive, San Andreas, booked at 6:30 p.m. after arrest on Highway 49 north of Highway 12, San Andreas.

Steven George Buckley, 47, undisclosed address on Highway 4, Douglas Flat, booked at 9:40 p.m. Wednesday after arrest on Highway 4 east of Utica Powerhouse Road, Murphys.



5:08 p.m., San Andreas Hot barbecue ashes ignited a fire in a Dumpster on Oak Street near Broadway. Two engines from San Andreas Fire Protection District responded.


3:13 a.m., Columbia area No dollar damage resulted from a debris burn on the 10600 block of Highway 49 that was extinguished by the Tuolumne County Fire Department and Columbia Fire Protection District. The Tuolumne County Environmental Health Department and a fire investigator also responded because the debris being burned included building materials and other items not allowed to be burned.
