6:30 a.m., Jamestown area A man camping in a tent off Rolling Hills Boulevard told deputies he was on a Canada-to-Arizona bike ride and could not find a campground.

9:26 a.m., Jamestown A pager, 38 CDs, sunglasses and photos, together valued at $400, were reported stolen from a car parked on the 10600 block of Seventh Street.

10:57 a.m., Tuolumne A caller from the 18600 block of Cedar Street reported that his dog "brought home a bone that looks human."

11:12 a.m., Sonora A backpack left in the Tuolumne County Tax Collector's office was returned to its owner.

12:41 p.m., Twain Harte area Cash was reported stolen from a garage on the 17500 block of Scenic Heights Drive.

2:36 p.m., Jamestown area Columbia School reported one of its students was followed home by a suspicious man driving an orange pickup truck after being dropped off on Rawhide Road by the school bus.

4:37 p.m., Tuolumne area A caller reported that she had been assaulted Tuesday by two people at a residence on the 20800 block of Blue Bell West.

5:39 p.m., Jamestown A caller reported that a man was hitting his daughter at a house on the 10500 block of Ninth Street.

5:57 p.m., Tuolumne The Tuolumne Fire Department reported it was about to use a smoke machine during a training exercise and cautioned that it "might look like a building is on fire."

6:29 p.m., Sonora area A woman called from the 20200 block of Sparrow Lane to report a man stole her ATM card and used it.

6:33 p.m., Columbia A woman said she was attacked by two people at a residence on the 11000 block of State Street.

7:35 p.m., Groveland A woman calling from the 13300 block of Clifton Way reported her son was "out of control and breaking things in the house."

8:42 p.m., Columbia A caller from the 10900 block of Green Street reported hearing "screaming, yelling and things breaking" at a nearby house.

9:06 p.m., East Sonora Security guards at Gottschalks in The Junction shopping center reported apprehending a shoplifter.

11:25 p.m., Twain Harte A Leisure Drive caller reported hearing neighbors fighting.

11:36 p.m., Jamestown An alarm and breaking glass were reported at Barendregt's Grocery on Main Street.

11:49 p.m., Sonora area A caller from the 20900 block of Shaws Flat Road said someone tried to break into his house.

7:25 p.m., Jamestown area Anthony Thomas Barbieri, 55, 4800 block of Little John Road, Copperopolis, booked on suspicion of making terrorist threats, being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after arrest by Sonora police officers and Tuolumne County sheriff's deputies at a residence on the 19300 block of Rocky Road, off Rawhide Road.

According to the Sonora Police Department, Barbieri made terrorist threats to a woman and her daughter over a two-month period. When the victims were placed in protective custody, Barbieri continued making threats and calling agencies trying to find the victims.

He was held this morning in lieu of $100,000 bail.


1:13 a.m., East Sonora Jesse Philip Hernandez, 18, 16600 block of South Creekside Drive, Sonora, booked on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs, narcotics possession and possession of marijuana while driving after arrest by Sonora police officers at Highway 108 and Sanguinetti Loop Road.

According to a Sonora Police Department report, Hernandez was pulled over for a traffic violation and was found to be in possession of 2.4 grams of marijuana. He also had a bag with a white powdery substance and other drug paraphernalia, the report said.

He has been released on $5,000 bail.

3:50 p.m., vandalism A woman said her car was scratched with a key in the parking lot of a business in the Sonora Crossroads shopping center on the 1100 block of Sanguinetti Road.

6:37 p.m., assault A woman said another woman assaulted her 9-year-old son at a home on the 400 block of Greenley Road.


1:51 a.m., fight A woman said some people who had been drinking were fighting with one another in a room at a lodge on the 100 block of South Washington Street.

3:34 a.m., suspicious circumstances An officer spoke with a man at a business on the 600 block of South Washington Street.

3:46 a.m., suspicious circumstances An officer was called to a business in the Timberhills shopping center on the 1000 block of Mono Way.

11:52 a.m., San Andreas A caller on the 100 block of West St. Charles Street said someone has been coming into the house and moving things around.

2:49 p.m., Bar XX A caller said pit bulls were killing a cat on the 4000 block of Filly Lane.

4:04 p.m., Rancho Calaveras A caller said two women were fighting on the 8600 block of Siegel Street. The dispute involved chickens.

5:13 p.m., Arnold A motorcycle parked on the 2700 block of Country Club Drive was vandalized.

10:02 p.m., West Point A caller said a man was standing in front of a yard on the 100 block of Main Street yelling at a tenant who lived there.

1:20 p.m., Rail Road Flat Steven Michael Duvall, 33, 13300 block of Wells Fargo Station Road, Rail Road Flat, booked on warrant charging him with carrying a concealed weapon and possessing a controlled substance. He was cited and released Wednesday.

9:25 p.m., Angles Camp Andres Vincente Garcia, 20, undisclosed address Highway 49, Sonora, booked on suspicion of possessing marijuana for sale after an arrest on the 600 block of Copello Drive, Angels Camp. He remained in custody this morning in lieu of $35,000 bail.
