Calaveras County Sheriffs deputies Thursday morning arrested a man suspected of being one of two who robbed Giant Burger in Arnold at gun point last week.
The robbers, described as wearing black clothing and facemasks, carried semi-automatic handguns and robbed the restaurant on the 800 block of Highway 4 of an undisclosed amount of cash around 7:30 p.m. Feb. 19.
One of three restaurant employees working that night was able to run out and alert patrons at the nearby White Pines Bar, and 911 was then called.
Arrested Thursday morning was Jeffery Charles Ellison, 23, address unknown. He was booked at 9:55 a.m. Thursday on suspicion of armed robbery and was being held at the Calaveras County jail in lieu of $45,000 bail.
According to a sheriff department report, Detective Tim Sturm and a SWAT team served a search warrant on a home at the 1800 block of Meadowview Road, Arnold, around 9 a.m. Thursday. No one was home, but several items Sturm believes were connected to the robbery were confiscated. Information on those items was withheld.
Shortly after the Meadowview Road house was searched, deputies Jake Verhalen and Jack Smith arrested Ellison at a home on the 2800 block of Black Oak Court, Arnold, the report said.
Other items related to the robbery were taken from Ellisons vehicle, the report said.
Sturm said further arrests are expected.
