8:15 a.m., Mono Vista The owner of Gary's Auto Service on the 20000 block of Sunshine Road North said items were stolen from two vehicles parked at the business.

8:16 a.m., Jamestown area A man calling on behalf of his elderly mother said a credit card account was fraudulently opened in her name, and more than $1,200 worth of items and services had been charged to it.

9:21 a.m., Jamestown A woman said a man stole prescription medication from her house on Main Street.

11:12 a.m., Tuolumne A woman said the hood of her car was scratched and dented over the weekend when it was parked on Carter Street.

1:01 p.m., Belleview Oaks A caller said a car drove up Sirus Mine Road to a neighbor's house, and then the caller heard three gunshots and an argument about drugs and a gun. Deputies have been to this house more than 24 times since 1999, when various residents have called about loud parties, racing cars and arguments. No guns were found Monday.

1:06 p.m., Jamestown A woman inside a mini-mart on the 18100 block of Highway 108 said her husband tried to choke her and bit her finger.

2:39 p.m., Mi-Wuk Village A man said his house on the 24000 block of Jeanita Lane was broken into.

4:56 p.m., Cedar Ridge area A woman said a man had been sitting in an older green van parked on Kuien Mill Road at Comstock Ranch Road for several hours.

5:03 p.m., Big Oak Flat A man on the 17600 block of School Street said his house was broken into, items were stolen and his dog was injured.

7:50 p.m., Twain Harte A man on the 18800 block of Manzanita Drive said he returned home to find two men and a red pickup truck in his carport. The men told him they were hired to drop off some wood, but the man thought they were there to break into his house.

8:08 p.m., Groveland A "be-on-the-lookout" order was issued for a stolen Ford F350 truck, license plate number 4Y33170. The truck was stolen from a house on Deerflat Road.


12:50 a.m., East Sonora A woman said she offered a ride to a man who appeared to be extremely drunk walking on Mono Way near Sanguinetti Road, but the man refused a ride.

Felony bookings


1:57 a.m., Sonora Harry Thomas Mitchell II, 32, 17400 block of Jacksonville Road, Jamestown, booked on a warrant charging him with child endangerment, violating his probation and failure to appear in court. He was arrested while in custody on other matters and remained held without bail this morning.

12:36 p.m., Sonora Nancy Marie Ino, 44 and Steven Marks Mello, 41, both of the 21300 block of Ridgeview Drive, Sonora, booked on suspicion of criminal conspiracy. Mello was also booked on suspicion of petty theft with prior convictions for petty theft, and Ino was booked on suspicion of misdemeanor petty theft.

According to a Sonora police report, Ino and Mello stole three deli sandwiches from Pak 'n Save grocery store in the Sonora Crossroads shopping center. Store employees stopped Ino, but Mello drove away. Officer John Bowly arrested Ino and, while he was taking her to jail, Bowly saw Mello sitting in a car parked in a parking lot at the Sonora Plaza shopping center and arrested him too. Both remained held this morning in lieu of $10,000 bail.

11:25 p.m., Big Hill David Paul Cline, 20, 22300 block of East Gunsight Road, Columbia, booked on suspicion of vehicle theft and receiving stolen property after an arrest by a California Highway Patrol officer on Gunsight Road east of Covington Road. He remained held this morning in lieu of $10,000 bail.

Sonora police reports


3:07 p.m., suspicious circumstances A Kelly Moore Paint store employee said a man was behind the building "huffing" spray paint. The man left before an officer arrived.

4:42 p.m., suspicious circumstances A caller said a green and white recreational vehicle with Nevada plates has been parked in a Wyckoff Street parking lot since Friday. The caller said the driver has been moving the RV around from parking lot to parking lot since last summer.

5:23 p.m., theft A caller said the rear license plate was stolen off his vehicle sometime overnight.

7 p.m., traffic accident A Wal-Mart employee was treated at Sonora Regional Medical Center after his right foot was run over by a car in the Sonora Crossroads shopping center by a driver who drove off without stopping. The employee was collecting shopping carts at the time of the accident.

7:11 a.m., Bar XX A caller was concerned that squatters were living on private property on the 1900 block of Appaloosa Way.

10:55 a.m., Glencoe A house was burglarized for a second time on the 18100 block of Highway 26.

11:27 a.m., Arnold Classic weapons were stolen from a house on the 2100 block of Rancho Paradiso.

11:34 a.m., Copperopolis A fence was damaged on the 800 block of Foothill Road.

12:15 p.m., Arnold A person on the 1500 block of Wawona Way was arrested on an outstanding warrant charge.

10:56 p.m., San Andreas An attempted suicide was reported at Mark Twain St. Joseph's Hospital. A person left the hospital dressed in red pajama bottoms and a white top. The person was located and placed in protective custody.

11:08 p.m., Valley Springs A misunderstanding about a trailer and tank of diesel fuel was reported on the first block of West Vista Del Lago Drive.

11:12 p.m., Jenny Lind An intoxicated woman on the 8400 block of Baldwin Street was talking to her family about killing herself. She then went to bed.

11:28 p.m., Angels Camp A vehicle was parked in the fog on Highway 49. The owner said the vehicle's transmission went out and it was later towed.

11:59 p.m., San Andreas A caller said a woman who could barely be seen in the middle of a foggy road might have had dead batteries in her wheelchair.


2:16 a.m., San Andreas A person was arrested at a Highway 49 grocery store on suspicion of violating parole.

Felony bookings


6:55 p.m., Rail Road Flat David Duane Williams, 33, 1300 block of Wells Fargo Road, Rail Road Flat, booked on Calaveras County warrants alleging that he drove with a suspended license, hit something without stopping, had drugs and gave false identification to an officer. As of this morning, Williams remained in custody in lieu of $30,275 bail.

10:47 p.m., West Point Vincent James Valdez, 32, 1100 block of John Eaph Trail, West Point, booked on suspicion of possessing drugs and drug paraphernalia in addition to being a convicted felon possessing a firearm and driving without a license. Valdez remained in custody this morning in lieu of $50,000 bail.
