9:11 a.m., Tuolumne A man on the 18300 block of Hershey Road East said the same dog that killed his chickens Tuesday night was back in the coop trying to kill more.

11:37 a.m., Twain Harte A caller said a window was open at a house on Black Oak Drive that is usually kept closed.

11:56 a.m., Groveland A Smith Station Road woman said two men in a gray pickup truck were on her property and had shot a high-powered rifle at an unknown object.

12:12 p.m., Jamestown A caller said a man was living in camper in an alley behind Eighth Street.

1:23 p.m., Jamestown A woman at Main Street Antiques said an item was stolen.

3:53 p.m., Columbia area A Calaveras County Sheriff's deputy saw a Volkswagen Jetta parked on Parrotts Ferry Road about a mile south of the bridge with its trunk open for several hours and no one around.

4:30 p.m., Sonora area A caller said he saw a man and woman climbing a hillside off Highway 108 near Lime Kiln Road and added that the woman was screaming. A deputy checked the area but did not find the people.

4:55 p.m., Jamestown A man wanted a deputy to talk to a woman who continually drives too fast on Seventh Street.

6:20 p.m., Long Barn A caller said his wife gave a ride to a woman walking along Highway 108 who appeared "messed up and acting strangely." The woman was dropped off at the west entrance to Long Barn Road but was not dressed for cold weather.

7:52 p.m., Phoenix Lake A woman on the 20000 block of Phoenix Lake Road said a man kicked in the door of her house. Responding deputies arrested the man on a warrant.

8:05 p.m., Jamestown A woman on Seventh Street said another woman ran over the caller's foot on purpose.

8:50 p.m., Tuolumne Mark Duane Hoyopatubbi, 41, 9000 block of Hailey Circle, Tuolumne, booked on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance and misdemeanor drunken driving and resisting officers after an arrest on North Tuolumne Road at Mi Wu Street.

According to a sheriff's report, a deputy stopped a blue pickup truck Hoyopatubbi was driving because it was weaving all over the road. A 19-year-old man who was a passenger was arrested on misdemeanor warrants. While the deputy was arresting the 19-year-old, Hoyopatubbi ran off into a field. The deputy chased him down and brought him back to the truck. While the deputy was gone, the younger man ran away with his hands still handcuffed behind his back.

The deputy asked for another officer to help him search. When the deputy searched Hoyopatubbi, the deputy found methamphetamine in Hoyopatubbi's pants pocket, the report said.

The 19-year-old man was later arrested at a house on the 18100 block of Chestnut Avenue, where two deputies found him hiding in a closet.

Hoyopatubbi remained in Tuolumne County Jail this morning, held in lieu of $15,000 bail.

12:22 a.m., suspicious circumstances A caller said a woman on the 800 block of Oakside Drive was standing on her patio screaming.

6:23 a.m., theft A woman said her purse was stolen from a vehicle parked by the county fairgrounds while she was at the health fair.

9:11 a.m., traffic accident No one was injured in a three-vehicle collision on Stockton Road.

10:48 p.m., traffic accident No one was injured in a traffic accident between the drivers of a UPS truck and a Toyota Camry on Mono Way at Greenley Road.

11:21 a.m., burglary A purse was stolen from a vehicle parked on Barretta Street.

11:59 a.m., traffic accident A 2004 Toyota pickup truck was hit by another vehicle in Sonora Crossroads shopping center. The driver left without leaving a note.

3:35 p.m., burglary A vehicle parked at Sonora High School parking lot on School street was broken into.

5:06 p.m., assault A woman said another woman pulled a knife on the caller while she was sitting inside a vehicle parked at Sonora Plaza shopping center.

10:06 p.m., traffic violation A 32-year-old woman was cited on suspicion of driving with a suspended license after a traffic stop on South Washington Street at Mono Way.

8 a.m., Twain Harte An oven fire was reported at a home at 20011 Coffill Road. California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection and the Twain Harte Community Services District Fire Department responded. There was no damage. The home is owned by Stanley Codiga.

2:05 p.m., Jamestown area A fire charred six acres of grass at 12772 Harney Lane. Damage was estimated at $1,200. Landowner is unknown. CDF, Tuolumne County Fire Department and two crews from Baseline Conservation camp responded. Cause of the fire is under investigation.

5:11 a.m., Sheep Ranch PG&E requested a civil standby while trees were trimmed on an easement in the 10500 block of Sheep Ranch Road. Threats have been made regarding the easement in the past.

8:07 a.m., Vallecito A caller on the 3500 block of Main Street said a mid-sized green truck was driving on the wrong side of the road and also driving on steep shoulders.

8:46 a.m., San Andreas A fight was reported at a San Andreas Elementary School bus stop. The fight turned out to be horseplay only.

9:19 a.m., Valley Springs A civil standby was requested while appraisers were on property on the 8900 block of Live Oak Lane.

9:50 a.m., Valley Springs A child custody dispute was reported on the 5400 block of Treosti Place.

1:09 p.m., Valley Springs A caller on the 3900 block of Bartelink Drive reported being offered grant money in exchange for bank account information.

1:36 p.m., Valley Springs A man on the 5600 block of McCauley Road reported ongoing trespassing problems with his neighbors.

1:47 p.m., West Point A caller on the 100 block of Bouvard Street said her ex-stepfather was on her property. A deputy mediated the situation.

3:03 p.m., Copperopolis Heavy equipment was reported operating without permits or insurance on the 2800 block of Little John Road.

3:07 p.m., Angels Camp Juveniles were reportedly fighting on Dogtown Road. Numerous vehicles were also seen leaving the fight area.

3:57 p.m., Copperopolis A business owner on the 1000 block of Feather Drive said she feels she's being harassed by a person who passed a bad check at her business.

4:10 p.m., San Andreas A white Toyota left a Highway 49 gas station without pay for $20 worth of gas.

6:30 p.m., Valley Springs A caller on the 6700 block of Baldwin Street said a neighbor's pool was draining into the caller's yard.

7 p.m., Arnold Verbal threats were reported on the 3100 block of Gold Hill Circle. A person was arrested on suspicion of violating parole.

8:38 p.m., Mountain Ranch A runaway juvenile was located by his or her father on the 200 block of Rail Road Flat Road.

9:29 p.m., Valley Springs A caller on the 8100 block of Sparrowk Road said a man driving a gray truck was trying to break down a door. A woman locked herself in the bedroom. The man left prior to a deputy's arrival.

10:37 p.m., Valley Springs Two women were involved in an altercation on the 100 block of West Sequoia Avenue. One of the women was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication.


1:11 a.m., Valley Springs area A woman was reported walking on Highway 12 west of Valley Springs. She was arrested by the California Highway Patrol on an out-of-county warrant.

Felony bookings


5:30 p.m., Mountain Ranch A 44-year-old Mountain Ranch man was booked on a spousal battery charge. As of this morning, he remained in custody at the county jail in lieu of $107,500 bail.



1:50 p.m., Valley Springs A big rig with a broken trailer caused 10 small roadside fires along Highway 12, east of Lime Creek. The truck, driven by Gary Brusseau of San Andreas, was traveling west on the highway when its trailer's left rear axle sheared off. The tires struck a 1999 Chevy Tahoe traveling in the opposite direction. No one was injured. California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection and Foothill Fire Protection District responded to the fires.
