8:57 a.m., Sugar Pine A caller said two men were going through mailboxes on the 24200 block of Highway 108.

9:21 a.m., Twain Harte A woman said her husband found a new bike on a walking trail near Cedar Springs Road and Brad Lee Drive.

11:17 a.m., Sherwood Forest A man on the 22500 block of Little John Road said he found a powdery substance in his garbage can.

11:43 a.m., East Sonora A caller said two people were under the Sullivan Creek Bridge on Highway 108 cutting large pieces of wood with a chain saw. The people left before a deputy arrived.

1:26 p.m., Willow Springs A woman on the 21300 block of Oman Drive said a man put a box full of feces in her backyard.

2:02 p.m., Tuolumne A woman said as she was walking her dog on Carter Street a man threatened her.

3:24 p.m., Jamestown A Chips Chevron gasoline and convenience store clerk found a Palm Pilot at the store, on the 18100 block of Highway 108.

4:40 p.m., Jamestown area A man said tools, construction material and a car stereo were stolen from his pickup truck, parked on the 14200 block of Amber Ridge Drive.

5:37 p.m., East Sonora A woman said a man wearing a hospital ID bracelet and a intravenous patch on his arm was staggering while walking east on Mono Way near Fir Drive. A sheriff's sergeant found the man, who earlier had been taken from a medical clinic to a hospital and was released. He was walking back to the medical clinic to retrieve his car. The sergeant gave the man a ride.

7:43 p.m., Crystal Falls A 27-year-old man was arrested on misdemeanor battery after an arrest on the 22000 block of Crystal Falls Drive. A woman said he was cussing and yelling inside the house.

10:18 p.m., Willow Springs A man said three people came to his house on Sherry Lane and caused a disturbance before leaving, possibly for Jamestown.


2:20 a.m., Racetrack area A woman living in a school bus on Rough and Ready Trail said people were walking around and looking into its windows.

Felony bookings


4:44 p.m., Racetrack Road area Paul Joseph Martinez, 41, 13700 block of Racetrack Road, Sonora, booked on suspicion of making criminal threats, assault with a deadly weapon and burglary after an arrest on the 20100 block of Jamestown Road.

According to a sheriff's report, Martinez broke into a home on the 18000 block of Seco Street, Jamestown, while armed with a knife, then threatened and assaulted a man and a woman who lived there. The woman's husband chased Martinez, who fled and tried to run over the husband and a teenage boy. Deputies found Martinez walking on Jamestown Road with a bloody shirt and arrested him.

He remained in jail this morning, held in lieu of $30,000 bail.

9:18 p.m., Jamestown Eric Owen Witcher, 37, no address given, booked on suspicion of failing to register a change of address as a registered sex offender and of misdemeanor disorderly conduct after an arrest on Main Street at Lemon Drop Lane.

A sheriff's report said Witcher was yelling, being vulgar and acting belligerent. Deputies arrived and arrested Witcher for being drunk in public and discovered he was previously convicted of child molestation and had not notified authorities of his current address. He remained held this morning in lieu of $5,000 bail.

Jay Thomas, 58, 18100 block of Bodenhammer Avenue, Tuolumne, booked at 8:50 p.m. Monday after arrest on Willow Avenue at Pine Street, Tuolumne.

7:22 a.m., found property A small gray and black briefcase with computer parts in it was found in a trash can at Courthouse Square.

10:21 a.m., vandalism A caller said the driver's side window of a vehicle parked on the 300 block of South Stewart Street was broken.

1:06 p.m., traffic accident No one was injured in a traffic accident on Mono Way.

1:46 p.m., traffic accident A car parked on Fairview Lane was struck by another vehicle sometime between 8 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

6:44 p.m., traffic accident A tow truck hit a stop sign in front of Sonora High School auditorium on North Washington Street.

11:20 p.m., suspicious circumstances A Beacon gas station clerk said a man came in to use the bathroom whose head was covered in blood.

8:29 a.m., Angels Camp Mailboxes were vandalized on the 6700 block of Riata Way.

9:35 p.m., Valley Springs Two juveniles were arguing on the 100 block of California Street.

9:44 a.m., Rail Road Flat A suspicious person claimed to be waiting for a ride on the 2800 block of Liberty Hill Road.

9:44 a.m., Valley Springs A runaway juvenile was reported on the 8000 block of Sparrowk Road.

10:14 a.m., San Andreas Stereo equipment was reported stolen from the 500 block of Lewis Avenue.

10:40 a.m., Valley Springs A wall at a park at the corner of Daphne and Pine streets was vandalized.

11:56 a.m., Copperopolis A dispute between neighbors was reported on the 900 block of Feather Court.

12:32 p.m., Valley Springs A sign and wagon were vandalized on the 5900 block of McCauley Road.

3:16 p.m., San Andreas Cash and a watch were stolen from the boys locker room at Calaveras High School.

3:33 p.m., Valley Springs A credit card was stolen on the 6800 block of Ospital Road.

3:36 p.m., San Andreas A case of forgery was reported on the 1700 block of Oak Knoll Lane.

4:14 p.m., San Andreas An altercation was reported on a Calaveras High School bus.

6:12 p.m., Valley Springs A road rage incident was reported on the 8100 block of West Hill Road.

9:50 p.m., San Andreas A woman wearing a red dress got mad at her boyfriend at a Highway 49 gas station and told him she was going to walk back to Valley Springs.

10:29 p.m., Valley Springs An intoxicated person was arrested at the intersection of Daphne and Rose streets.


1:38 a.m., Paloma A caller said an intoxicated woman drove into a driveway on the 7600 block of Gwin Mine Road and yelled "I love you" to the house before driving away.

8:45 p.m., Dorrington A 42-year-old Dorrington man was booked on suspicion of willful cruelty to a child. He was released from custody yesterday after posting $75,000 bail.

11:15 p.m., Mokelumne Hill Rochelle Louise Hie, 24, 8600 block of Kansas Road, Mountain Ranch, booked on suspicion of possessing drugs, destroying or concealing evidence, resisting arrest and driving under the influence of drugs. Hie was released from custody yesterday after posting $40,000 bail.
