7:43 a.m., Jamestown A woman on the 10600 block of Oak Creek Court said her house was egged overnight.

9:54 a.m., Soulsbyville A man said there was an attempted break-in at Soulsbyville United Methodist Church on the 19900 block of Community Drive overnight.

9:58 a.m., Jamestown A Whistle Stop clerk said the store on the 18300 block of Highway 108 took in three counterfeit bills one $10 and two $20 bills.

10:10 a.m., East Sonora A caller at Hanger Prosthetics and Orthotics in The Junction shopping center said a man in the parking lot was asking customers going into the store to tell him to come outside.

11:05 a.m., Sonora A man reported wearing a camouflage suit, helmet and carrying a rifle between Sonora Hills and a business on Greenley Road turned out to be a sheriff's deputy participating in SWAT team training.

11:23 a.m., Twain Harte A man on the 22000 block of Longeway Road said something kept hitting his house overnight. When he got up this morning he noticed a window was broken.

12:26 p.m., Tuolumne A woman on the 18400 block of Tuolumne Road said she suspected the water she purchased at a grocery store had been tampered with.

12:27 p.m., Twain Harte A man said a young girl was riding a motorcycle on Oakview Drive without a helmet and he was concerned for her safety.

2:25 p.m., Columbia A man on the 11000 block of McKellar Drive said he has been receiving phone calls from a "police benevolent association" soliciting money. He believes the calls may be fraudulent.

2:59 p.m., Groveland A woman on the 21000 block of Hillcroft Drive said someone has been prowling around her house at night for the last month. A bag of feed and a screwdriver set were stolen and her garbage can was smashed.

3:19 p.m., Chinese Camp A woman on the 13700 block of Sims Road said a fence was cut and someone tried to break into a shop on her property.

5:28 p.m., East Sonora A man on the 14900 block of Los Robles Lane said his house was burglarized.

5:30 p.m., Wards Ferry area A caller said a silver car was about 200 yards downstream from the Wards Ferry Bridge on a steep embankment. A responding CHP officer said the car has been there since an accident five years ago.

5:43 p.m., Twain Harte A woman said a person in a gray Porsche dumped trash into a bin at the Gables Inn on the 22500 block of Twain Harte Drive.

6:55 p.m., Cedar Ridge A man said his house, on the 16700 block of Brookside Drive, was burglarized sometime in the last three days.

7:54 p.m., Columbia A caller said a drunk man was lying in a driveway on the 22500 block of Lower Quail Mine Road.

8:02 p.m., Jamestown A woman said her friend was assaulted by a man in a her friend was bleeding from the head and hand but refused medical aid.

10:08 p.m., Twain Harte A caller said a man in a Dodge van with tinted windows had driven by Twain Harte Drive several times during the night.

10:58 p.m., Twain Harte A man said lights were on at the Twain Harte Post Office and that he could hear someone moving around.


Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol:

Michael Wayne Davis, 45, 17800 Aarondale Road, Tuolumne, booked at 3:23 a.m. yesterday after an arrest on Sanguinetti Road at Mono Way, Sonora. He was also booked on suspicion of driving with a license previously suspended for a drunken driving conviction, a warrant charging him with drunken driving, failure to appear in court and driving while privileges are suspended for failure to take a chemical test for driving under the influence.

1:45 a.m., disorderly conduct A caller said a man was vandalizing a candy machine and spitting on the floor at Tuolumne General Hospital.

9:17 a.m., animal complaints A caller said a large cat came up through a floor vent in a house on Wall Street and was hiding behind the washing machine. An Animal Control officer got the cat out.

10:57 a.m., traffic accident A woman said her car was struck by a commercial truck Saturday in the Sonora Crossroads shopping center.

1:36 p.m., lost property A man said he lost his wallet Saturday and someone went through his vehicle parked on North Stewart Street.

2:09 p.m., warrant arrest A 29-year-old man was arrested on a misdemeanor warrant charging him with drunken driving and possessing marijuana after a traffic stop on Stockton Road.

2:13 p.m., traffic accident No one was injured in a traffic accident on the 500 block of South Washington Street.

2:45 p.m., traffic accident No one was injured in a traffic accident in the Sonora Crossroads shopping center.

9:56 p.m., theft Two skateboards were stolen from in front of a store in the Sonora Crossroads shopping center.



2:39 p.m., Groveland A vehicle fire was reported on the 19900 block of Old Highway 120. Paul Gordon of the same address owns the 1979 Dodge flatbed truck. Damage was estimated at $1,500. California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, Tuolumne County Fire Department and Groveland Community Services District Fire Department responded.

3:25 p.m., Tuolumne A spot fire was reported on the 19300 block of Me Wu Street. No damage was reported. Someone playing with fire ignited the flames. CDF and Tuolumne Fire Protection District responded.



8:18 a.m., Valley Springs A digital camera was stolen from Toyon Middle School.

9:18 a.m., Copperopolis A man said construction tools were stolen from the 1200 block of Knolls Drive.

9:59 a.m., San Andreas A window at Once Again Thrift Store on the 600 block of East Booth Street was broken in an attempt to break into the store.

11:38 a.m., Hathaway Pines A caller on the 500 block of Canyon View Drive said a bear ripped a door off a basement and took garbage.

1 p.m., Murphys A caller said someone threw coffee on a vehicle parked on the 400 block of Main Street.

1:15 p.m., Valley Springs A customer wrote a check on a closed account using fake identification at Radio Shack, on the 200 block of Highway 12.

7:41 p.m., San Andreas A caller said a man on the 700 block of West St. Charles Street with a bicycle was asking for water and a ride to Sacramento.

Felony bookings


10:37 p.m., Valley Springs A 49-year-old Valley Springs man was booked on suspicion of felony spousal battery after an arrest at his home. No details were available. He was released after posting $50,000 bail.

11 p.m., Angels Camp A 44-year-old San Pablo woman was booked on suspicion of felony spousal battery after arrest at a house on Selkirk Ranch Road. No details were available. She remained in jail this morning, held in lieu of $50,000 bail.

Edna Mae Nero, 61, undisclosed address, San Andreas, booked at 5:50 p.m. Monday after arrest on Cosgrove Road near Highway 49, Calaveritas.

Charles William Vaughan, 57, 3500 block of Laurent Lane, Valley Springs, booked at 9:30 p.m. Monday after arrest on Laurel Street at Daphne Street, Valley Springs.



6:10 p.m., Bar XX A vehicle fire was reported on Highway 4 at Stallion Way. Tom Brown of Angels Camp owns the 1993 Plymouth Voyager. Damage was estimated at $3,000. Cause is undetermined. CDF and Angels Camp Fire Protection District responded.
