Sheriff's report


11 a.m., Jamestown A man said American Coin Age on the 18200 block of Main Street was broken into overnight. A back door was broken down and siding on the building was torn off.

1:36 p.m., Jamestown A woman said five or six teens were behind the Jamestown Youth Center on Seventh Street doing things they shouldn't be doing.

3:07 p.m., Crystal Falls A woman said a 4-foot iguana was sunning itself on a rock in a vacant lot on Red River Drive near Smokey River Drive. The iguana owner was contacted and picked up her pet.

3:59 p.m., Don Pedro A man who suffered a head injury while boating on the reservoir was taken to Fleming Meadows Marina, where an ambulance crew was waiting.

6:25 p.m., Crystal Falls A caller on the 22000 block of Crystal Falls Drive said a woman and her stepfather were arguing and the woman hit his car with an ax then left.

7:05 p.m., Cedar Ridge A woman said a sick raccoon was under her house on Bear Clover Court South. An Animal Control officer was called in.

8:14 p.m., Big Hill area A woman on the 22700 block of Quail Mine Road said when she returned home the front door and bedroom door were open and whoever was in her house left a marijuana smoking pipe on her kitchen counter.

8:44 p.m., Columbia A caller said a woman came out of a house on the 22400 block of Airport Road South, then a man told the woman she could not leave. The man grabbed the woman and shattered the driver's side window of her truck.

9:17 p.m., Jamestown Two women living on the 18000 block of Ninth Avenue said prescription drugs were stolen Saturday.

11:03 a.m., Tuolumne A woman calling from the 20200 block of Canyonview Drive said a skunk, possibly rabid, was in her garage. The skunk was not afraid of the woman but was wobbling around.

Felony bookings


7:58 p.m., Groveland John Thomas Tommaso Jr., 22, 200 block of East I Street, Oakdale, booked on suspicion of making criminal threats, possessing a deadly weapon and threatening with a weapon and misdemeanor battery after an arrest on North Fork Road at Merrill Road.

According to a sheriff's report, Tommaso was choking and beating a woman while holding a pistol in his hand and making threats.

He remained in jail this morning, held in lieu of $25,000 bail.


5:08 a.m., Tuolumne David Richard Ereso, 36, 2700 block of McCord Street, Ceres, booked on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a license suspended for a previous drunk driving conviction.

Ereso and a 27-year-old Turlock woman were arrested after a traffic stop on Tuolumne Road at Morris Road. Ereso was released Saturday after posting $10,000 bail. The Tuolumne County District Attorney's office chose not to file charges against the woman after reviewing a sheriff's report.

10 a.m., Jamestown area Brian Allen Darrow, 18, 500 block of North Palm, Fresno, booked on suspicion of vehicle theft and receiving stolen property after arrest on Highway 108 north of Montezuma Junction. No details were available. He remained in jail this morning, held in lieu of $5,000 bail.

5:59 p.m., Sonora Jennifer Lynn Keyes, 18, 13700 block of Mark Trail, Sonora, booked on suspicion of making criminal threats after an arrest on the 400 block of Greenley Road.

According to a Sonora police report, a woman said Keyes and other teenage girls were at Heaven for Kids park on Greenley Road swearing and smoking while playing on the swing set. A woman said Keyes told a 5-year-old boy who wanted to play on the swings to "get away from me or I'll kick your teeth in."

An officer went to the park and while he tried to talk to several witnesses, Keyes began yelling profanities and was arrested.

Keyes was released on her own recognizance yesterday after appearing in Tuolumne County Superior Court for arraignment.


3:50 a.m., Sonora Cindy Elaine Grimaldi, 42, 14300 block of Expedition Drive, Sonora, booked on suspicion of possessing amphetamines and possessing a controlled substance in the county jail after an arrest at the jail. No details were available. She remained held this morning in lieu of $10,000 bail.

4:36 a.m., Soulsbyville Bryan Scott Cook, 28, no address given, Mi-Wuk Village, booked on suspicion of drug possession after a traffic stop and arrest on Highway 108 at Soulsbyville Road. He remained in jail this morning, held in lieu of $10,000 bail.

Jeremy James Hanley, 27, 19500 block of Middle Camp Road, Twain Harte, booked at 12:45 a.m. Saturday after arrest on Highway 108 west of Draper Mine Road, Soulsbyville.

Josh Stewart Pickell, 21, 1900 block of North 18th Street, Springfield, Ore., booked at 2:50 a.m. Saturday after arrest on Highway 108 at Wigwam Road, Jamestown area.

12:48 a.m., lost property A purse left in a shopping cart at Save Mart on Stockton Road was stolen.

4:14 p.m., public intoxication A 52-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of public drunkenness after a caller said the man was stumbling while walking in the middle of Stockton Road.

8:48 p.m., hazardous situation A caller said a large red truck was blocking Linoberg Street.



11:45 a.m., Columbia An escaped debris burn was reported on the 22500 block of Parrotts Ferry Road. Columbia Elementary School owns the property. Stan Steiner is the tenant. California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, Columbia Fire Protection District, Tuolumne County Fire Protection District and Sonora City Fire Department responded.

12:33 a.m., San Andreas A Calaveras Enterprise box on Highway 49 was broken into and newspapers were stolen.

12:56 p.m., San Andreas A car wash on Highway 49 was broken into and a vacuum was damaged.

2:13 a.m., San Andreas A caller on the 200 block of California Street said she heard someone outside of her window.

9:19 a.m., West Point A caller on the 21000 block of Highway 26 said she saw a young female leave a building on the caller's property. A deputy was unable to locate the young female.

8:39 p.m., Arnold A caller on the 1300 block of Ponderosa Way said there was a light on at a house that was supposed to be empty.

10:04 p.m., San Andreas A caller on the 1200 block of West Oak Park Drive said several people were standing outside her residence and looking into her kitchen window. A deputy arrested one male on suspicion of public intoxication.



2:15 p.m., Arnold area An escaped debris burn was reported on the 1200 block of Love Creek Road. Damage was estimated at $28,000 to seven acres of timber. Jim Kardas of the same address owns the land. CDF, Ebbetts Pass Fire Protection District, two crews from Vallecito Conservation Camp, two crews from Baseline Conservation Camp, Altaville-Melones Fire Protection District, Bear Valley Fire Protection District, Murphys Fire Protection District, Angels Camp Fire Department, San Andreas Fire Protection District and Central Fire Protection District responded.


3:45 p.m., Mountain Ranch area A vehicle fire was reported on the 5900 block of Old Gulch Road. Tom Thomas owns the automobile. No damage was reported. The fire was out before firefighters arrived. Central Fire Protection District and San Andreas Fire Protection District responded.

7:30 p.m., Burson An escaped debris burn was reported on the 6500 block of Baldwin Street. No damage was reported. Jim Mentwig of Burson owns the property. CDF, Foothill Fire Protection District, San Andreas Fire Protection District and Mokelumne Hill Fire Protection District responded.
