8:45 a.m., Jamestown A woman on the 10700 block of Wigwam Road said telephone lines were pulled out of a box on the outside of her trailer.

10:16 a.m., Columbia The director of Church of the 49ers Preschool on the 11000 block of Jackson Street said the school was burglarized overnight and a toaster oven, electric griddle and fruit were stolen.

10:18 a.m., Tuolumne area A man on the 15000 block of Wards Ferry Road said his caretaker told him the house had been broken into.

10:34 a.m., Columbia A man on Sawmill Flat Road near Columbia College Drive said another man beat him up while he was sleeping Tuesday morning.

12:53 p.m., Sonora area A woman found mail on the side of Highway 108 near Sanguinetti Loop dating back to 2001.

12:57 p.m., Sonora area A woman said a red Toyota pickup was parked near the 18300 block of Lime Rock Road and the driver was sitting in the truck for more than 30 minutes.

1:25 p.m., Sonora A man on the 12800 block of Chukar Circle said he thinks he knows who has a lamp stolen from his house about six months ago.

1:45 p.m., Jamestown A man on the 18000 block of Railbed Road said coins were stolen from his house.

2 p.m., Sonora area A caller said there was a possibly drunken driver on Highway 49 in a red Ford Escort.

3:36 p.m., Cold Springs A woman said a window was open on the second story of a cabin on the 25600 block of Old Mono Road. A deputy checked the house and did not find anything suspicious.

3:55 p.m., Sonora area A woman with Sonora Regional Medical Center said a woman was in a public restroom taking a bath in the sink. The caller said the woman has done this before at the old hospital on Forest Road, and was always asked to leave.

4:46 p.m., Groveland A man said survey stakes were removed from his property on Cresthaven Drive and he found a threatening note.

5:18 p.m., Sonora area A caller said a brown GMC van followed him home from Oakdale and was still circling his block.

6:23 p.m., Cedar Ridge A man on the 23900 block of Hitching Post Road said his shop and home were broken into.

9:35 p.m., Twain Harte A woman on the 21000 block of Tuolumne Road North said a man was threatening her and her family.

11:05 p.m., Gibbs Ranch A man said he saw a vehicle drive up a road off Gibbs Drive that normally has a chain across it.

Felony bookings


8:25 a.m., Mono Village Leobardo Villanueva Alcocer, 24, 8900 block of Fraguero Road, Sonora, booked on suspicion of being in the United States illegally after a traffic stop and arrest on Mono Way at Mono Village shopping center. He was also booked on suspicion of being an unlicensed driver. Alcocer was picked up by Immigration and Naturalization agents yesterday.

5:45 p.m., Sonora Paul Anthony Dake, 41, no address given, booked on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance and misdemeanor public intoxication after arrest on South Washington Street at Linoberg Street. He remained held this morning in lieu of $10,000 bail.

7:09 p.m., Twain Harte Jeri Lynn Thompson, 45, 17000 block of Mono Vista Road, Soulsbyville, booked on suspicion of grand theft, theft from an elder and forgery after an arrest on the 17900 block of Towhee Drive, Twain Harte.

According to a sheriff's report, a 78-year-old man living at Cresthaven Residential Care Home on the 16800 block of Crestview Drive told a sheriff's deputy his checkbook and wallet were missing and he suspected Thompson was responsible.

Thompson is a caregiver at Cresthaven.

Thompson told a deputy the elderly man gave her the checks, which she cashed. The man denied giving her the checks.

Thompson remained held this morning in lieu of $20,000 bail.

7:25 p.m., Sonora Joel William Matkin, 52, 19000 block of Middle Camp Road, Twain Harte, booked on a felony parole hold after arrest on the 400 block of Greenley Road. No details were available. He remained held without bail this morning.

11:19 p.m., Tuolumne Brandi Marie Priest, 26, 5400 block of Highway 49, South, Mariposa, booked on suspicion of possessing and transporting a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license after arrest on Tuolumne Road at Woodham Carne Road.

A sheriff's report said a deputy stopped Priest for a traffic violation there were no tail lights on her vehicle. Priest admitted to having methamphetamine and marijuana in her car and gave it to the deputy who arrested her.

She was released yesterday after posting $20,000 bail.

12:37 a.m., warrant arrest Two men, 29 and 24, were booked on misdemeanor warrants after an arrest on Highway 49 in Sonora.

8:13 a.m., juvenile arrest A caller said seven teenage boys went into the back of a closed business on South Washington Street. An officer checked and arrested one boy for possessing a controlled substance. The boy was cited and released.

9:22 a.m., warrant arrest An 18-year-old man turned himself in on misdemeanor warrants.

10:03 a.m., misdemeanor arrest A man was cited and released on suspicion of misdemeanor drug possession after an arrest on South Shepherd Street at Gold Street.

1:54 p.m., animal complaints A caller said dog living at a house on Lytton Street was snapping and snarling at people who walked past the driveway.

3:12 p.m., warrant arrest A man was arrested on misdemeanor warrants on Old Bald Mountain Road after a traffic stop.

7:41 p.m., burglary A woman on the 100 block of South Barretta Street said her house was burglarized and jewelry taken.

8:01 p.m., suspicious circumstances A Sierra Village Apartment manager said there has been an increase in vandalism at the building on the 200 block of Greenley Road and wanted extra patrol.

8:17 p.m., vandalism The front door of a business on the corner of South Washington Street and Linoberg was broken.

6:42 a.m., Angels Camp A deputy assisted with an electrical fire that PG&E reported on the 1100 block of Murphys Grade Road.

6:44 a.m., Valley Springs A caller on the 2200 block of Berkesey Drive said a rock was thrown through their window overnight.

7:38 a.m., Valley Springs A juvenile reported being assaulted by his girlfriend's father on the first block of Laurel Street.

7:51 a.m., Valley Springs A dog was reported stolen from the 2600 block of Mallard Court.

9:37 a.m., Valley Springs A dispute was reported between a couple, and it ended with the man driving his car into a house on the 200 block of Cedar Street.

9:45 a.m., San Andreas A suspicious man was reported at the corner of Miller and Pope streets, wearing black and carrying a sword.

2:02 p.m., San Andreas There was a report of a person in red and possibly carrying a handgun. Several deputies responded but did not find anyone.

2:46 p.m., San Andreas The man in black seen earlier at Miller and Pope was reported at the government center's bus stop, telling children he has killed people in the past. A deputy said no crime was committed, but that the man "just enjoys scaring kids."

3:26 p.m., Burson Items were reported stolen from a dead person's trailer on the 3500 block of South Burson Road.

3:30 p.m., San Andreas An irate man was reported at the county's building department on the 800 block of Mountain Ranch Road.

4:06 p.m., San Andreas An patient was reported to be uncooperative and tearing out intravenous lines in the emergency room of Mark Twain St. Joseph's Hospital.

4:24 p.m., Copperopolis A hysterical caller said a dog was in a restaurant on the first block of Copper Cove Drive. The caller said the dog "sat contentedly, licking himself " and "hoping for a tidbit of food." Animal control was called to the scene with a deputy. The caller said he or she was bitten by a Chihuahua as a child and is traumatized by dogs.

4:46 p.m., Jenny Lind There was a report of a bag of white powder at the intersection of Conner and Usher drives. The caller said the bag might contain drugs.

5:36 p.m., Mountain Ranch A disturbance was reported on the 200 block of Black Oak Drive between a person claiming to work on the road and an area resident.

6:44 p.m., Murphys A caller on the 300 block of Bret Harte Drive said someone was trying to start a fire behind her couch. However, there was no one in the house except the caller, who said she frequently sees strange things happen in her apartment.

7:18 p.m., Angels Camp There was a report of a man possibly under the influence of drugs or alcohol who drove his vehicle into a house on the 9600 block of Spring Hill Ranch Road.

7:45 p.m., San Andreas A caller on the 200 block of High School Road said her son had been drinking and is beating up the fence.

11:55 p.m., Valley Springs A caller on the 3000 block of Dunn Road said his or her house was the recipient of a drive-by paintball shooting.

Felony bookings


11:15 a.m., Valley Springs Shawn Jonathan Melcher, 26, 3900 block of Silver Rapids Road, Valley Springs, booked on a felony battery charge. As of this morning, Melcher remained in the Calaveras County Jail, held in lieu of $65,000.

9:15 p.m., West Point Brian Thomas Creekmore, 43, 300 block of Stanley Road, West Point, booked on a charge of making threats with an intent to terrorize. Creekmore remained in custody this morning, held in lieu of $20,000.
