11:55 a.m., Wards Ferry Road area A woman found a few boxes of clothing by the side of Wards Ferry Road west of Yosemite Road.

3:26 p.m., Sonora area A woman on the 20900 block of Shaws Flat Road said her son's bicycle, valued at $1,300, was stolen from the front yard.

3:52 p.m., Columbia A caller said people in a cranberry-colored Mercury were "flipping people off" and throwing trash out the windows while on Parrotts Ferry Road headed toward Calaveras County.

4:33 p.m., Twain Harte A man said two boys were in trees on the 18700 block of Tiffeni Drive, throwing rocks and sticks on cars and people in a parking lot.

5:33 p.m., Groveland A woman on the 20600 block of Morgan Drive said a neighbor drove past her house taking pictures of her and her husband.

6:02 p.m., East Sonora A caller said a man wearing a red hat, sunglasses and leather jacket was walking on railroad tracks near The Junction shopping center. The man was talking to himself while carrying a bottle of vodka in one hand and a can of paint thinner in the other. A deputy checked the area but could not find the man.

6:26 p.m., Groveland A woman on the 20800 block of Hemlock Street said a man cut power to her house and threatened to harm her and her children.


2:52 a.m., Soulsbyville A woman on the 20500 block of Kings Court said he could hear someone trying to open his front door.

3:26 a.m., Lambert Lake Estates A 24-year-old man was cited for driving without a license after a traffic stop on Lambert Lake Road.

Felony bookings


3:52 p.m., East Sonora Samantha Mary Taylor, 24, 1000 block of Shaws Flat Road, Sonora, booked on suspicion of burglary, receiving stolen property and forgery after an arrest at The Money Mart in The Junction shopping center.

According to a sheriff's report, Taylor broke into her mother's house, stole checks and tried to cash one for $350.

She remained in jail this morning, held in lieu of $50,000 bail.

4 p.m., Jamestown Alan David Hopp, 28, and Tonya Ann Hopp, 27, of the 10600 block of Jim Brady Road, Jamestown, both booked on suspicion of possessing marijuana for sale, committing a felony with a firearm and child endangerment after an arrest at their home.

Investigators from the Tuolumne Narcotics Team served a search warrant on the Hopp house Friday, and found almost 3 pounds of processed marijuana, some of which was in a bedroom and some was in the garage rafters. Investigators also said they found a gun, packaging material, scales and $976 in cash, said Sgt. Jim Mele.

A young child was taken into protective custody Friday.

The Hopps were released Friday after posting $25,000 bail each.


12:31 p.m., Sonora Cassidy Suzanne Coffey, 22, no address given, Sonora, booked on suspicion of unlawful possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor resisting arrest. She was also booked on a warrant charging her with second-degree burglary, violating probation and failure to appear in court.

She was arrested after a traffic stop. No other details were available. Coffey remained in jail this morning, held without bail.


5:21 p.m., East Sonora Howard Owen Orr, 37, 14300 block of Expedition Drive, Sonora, booked on a warrant charging him with marijuana cultivation after a traffic stop and arrest on Peaceful Oak Road near Highway 108.

He remained in jail this morning, held in lieu of $10,000 bail.

David Lawrence McKay, 57, 20600 block of Resort Road, Sonora, booked at 3:10 a.m. Saturday after arrest on South Washington Street at Williams Street, Sonora.

Erik Nunez Ponce, 20, 17700 block of Highway 108, Jamestown, booked at 7:30 a.m. Saturday after arrest on Jamestown Road south of Whiskey Creek Road.

Joshua Manuel Martinez, 28, 10200 block of Preston Lane, Jamestown, booked at 3:11 a.m. Sunday after arrest on the 600 block of Stockton Road, Sonora.



3 p.m., Sonora area Firefighters responded to a water-heater fire on the 12800 block of Mono Way. Damage was estimated at $500. California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection and Tuolumne County Fire Department responded.


11:40 a.m., Crystal Falls Firefighters received an answering machine message that a woman on the 21200 block of American River Drive had a kitchen fire. The fire was out by the time crews arrived at the home. Damage was estimated at $2,000 to the kitchen, stove, venting and cabinets. Amy Rickert of the same address owns the house. CDF and Tuolumne County Fire Department responded.


2:50 a.m., Jamestown A deck fire was reported on the 18200 block of Ninth Avenue. The fire was extinguished before firefighters arrived. Damage was estimated at $100 to some decking and trash. Stewart Hatler owns the property. Tenant is Sara Shaw of the same address. CDF, Tuolumne County Fire Department, Jamestown Fire Protection District and Sonora City Fire Department responded.

12:50 a.m., found property An officer found a pay telephone by the side of Stockton Road with the coin container intact.

2:36 a.m., disorderly conduct A caller said six men on the 100 block of South Barretta Street were making too much noise.

7:40 a.m., vandalism A caller on the 100 block of South Barretta Street said several cars were egged overnight.

12:29 p.m.,theft A caller on the 500 block of South Washington Street said cash, cigarettes, old coins and alcohol were stolen from a bedroom overnight. The caller suspected the thief might be a friend of a relative.

12:32 p.m., animal complaints A pitbull puppy running loose on South Barretta Street chased a woman walking a dog on a leash.

1:08 p.m., public intoxication A 37-year-old man was booked on suspicion of public intoxication after an arrest on Greenley Road.

1:45 p.m., found property Several boxes of ammunition were brought to the police department for destruction.

2:58 p.m., theft A rear license plate was stolen off a vehicle parked on the 200 block of East Jackson Street.

3:18 p.m., theft A teenage boy stole two Rice Krispie treats from Gold Country Gas on the 300 block of South Washington Street, then ran away.

6:21 p.m., public intoxication A teenage boy was booked on suspicion of public intoxication after an arrest in Sonora Crossroads shopping center.

11:12 p.m., public intoxication A 52-year-old man was booked on suspicion of public intoxication after an arrest on Snell Street near South Washington Street, but before he was booked, he was taken to Tuolumne General Hospital for a medical evaluation.

7:52 a.m., Angels Camp A square, 6-foot box was reported floating under the Stevenot Bridge at New Melones Lake.

9:16 a.m., Valley Springs Tools were stolen from a construction site on the 2800 block of Hillwood Drive.

3:27 p.m., Vallecito A vehicle was broken into at Natural Bridges parking lot off Parrotts Ferry Road.

5:14 p.m., Arnold A caller on the 1600 block of Meadowview Road said his or her granddaughter's boyfriend moved back into her house and won't leave.

6:25 p.m., Valley Springs A verbal dispute between a husband and wife was reported on the 5000 block of Treosti Place.

11:45 a.m., Murphys A 37-year-old Murphys man was booked on suspicion of first-degree burglary and spousal battery after an arrest at his home. As of this morning, the man remained in custody at Calaveras County Jail in lieu of $70,000.


11:36 p.m., Angels Camp Alfonso Salazar, 52, of Stockton, booked on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance and committing vandalism. As of this morning, Salazar remained in Calaveras County Jail, held in lieu of $40,000.
