Robert Smittle, now 4, attends a tribute to U.S. troops in Fayetteville, N.C., where his father, Army Staff Sgt. Patrick Smittle, is based. The elder Smittle, 29, returned last week from a year in Iraq. He graduated from Summerville High School in 1993, and his wife, Bridget, 33, graduated from Sonora High School in 1989. She worked at Cinema 5 in Sonora until 1997, when they married and moved to Fayetteville. They also have a daughter, Emily, 1.
