Crash claims lives of pair

A fiery crash on Mountain Ranch Road west of Sheep Ranch Road killed a Mountain Ranch couple Friday afternoon.

Michael Jack Inman, 48, and Joann Rosa Inman, 47, of the 17900 block of Baker Riley Road died a little after 2 p.m. when the westbound van they were in went over the painted double yellow lines on the road, crossed the eastbound lane, went down a dirt embankment and struck a tree head-on, according to the California Highway Patrol report.

The crash resulted in a fire that fully engulfed the van, said CHP.

No one witnessed the crash, and no information was available this morning about the cause.

San Andreas Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
