8:56 a.m., East Sonora An employee at the Best Western Sonora Oaks motel on the 19500 block of Hess Avenue said someone broke into two vending machines.

9:15 a.m., Jamestown A woman on the 12800 block of Harney Drive said checks were stolen from her mailbox and that some were forged and cashed, resulting in a $180 loss.

10:29 a.m., Greenley Road area A 52-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication after a Beverly Health Care employee said he came to visit a relative there and was seen urinating in bushes outside.

10:31 a.m., East Sonora A McDonalds employee said a video surveillance tape shows a person breaking a coin machine at the restaurant, on the 13700 block of Mono Way.

1:08 p.m., Cedar Ridge A Sunnyvale Police officer asked a deputy to check for a possible stolen vehicle at a house on Estralita Drive.

2:27 p.m., Columbia A woman came to the Sheriff's Department to say squatters were on property near Parrotts Ferry Road and Union Hill Road.

2:53 p.m., Crystal Falls A gardener said a man threatened him with bodily harm for blowing leaves onto the man's property, on Crystal Falls Drive near Feather River Drive.

3:19 p.m., Twain Harte A brown sofa valued at $200 was reported stolen from a vacant mobile home on the 22400 block of South Airport Road.

3:52 p.m., Sonora area A woman on the 20600 block of Skyview Drive said a video game controller and games were stolen from her house.

4:41 p.m., Jamestown A 36-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being a habitual traffic offender after an officer stopped him on Main Street at Donovan Street.

5:29 p.m., Sonora area A caller said a woman came into a business on Old Columbia Way asking for the nearest campground, then left laughing, swinging around and acting strange.

5:29 p.m., Jamestown A woman on the 10400 block of Tenth Street said $2,528 worth of jewelry was stolen from her house.

8:39 a.m., Jamestown A 25-year-old man was booked on suspicion of possessing drug paraphernalia after a deputy stopped the man on Seventh Street near Alder Alley.

11:20 p.m., Crystal Falls A man on the 20000 block of Crystal Falls Drive said his wife hit him four times. The woman said the man hit her in the forehead, so she hit him back.

David Robert Patch, 22, 18300 block of Maple Street, Tuolumne, booked at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday after arrest on Tuolumne Road at Standard Road.



5 a.m., Don Pedro An arsonist is believed to have set fires that did a combined $13,000 damage to two pickup trucks parked at the Fleming Meadows Marina. One fire did $1,000 damage to the cab and contents of a 1998 Ford Ranger owned by the Turlock Irrigation District. The second fire, set at the same time, did $12,000 in damage to a 1994 Dodge pickup owned by William Sade of Paicines, San Benito County. Both fires, reported after they had burned out, are under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Richard Imlach, California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection arson investigator, at 532-0821.

5:28 a.m., public peace A caller said painters on the 20 block of South Washington Street were making too much noise too early in the morning.

7:01 a.m., suspicious circumstances A caller on the 70 block of Elm Street found a man who might have been on drugs in the caller's basement. The caller asked the man to leave and he did.

9:29 a.m., animal complaints A caller on the 400 block of Oakside Drive found a dead opossum on his property and turned it over to Animal Control for rabies testing.

9:48 a.m., hazardous situation A caller said an abandoned refrigerator was in a driveway on the 300 block of East Pasadena Avenue.

10:29 a.m., hazardous situation A caller said a man on Stockton Road was a hazard to passing vehicles.

4:43 p.m., traffic accidents A officer assisted drivers after a three-vehicle accident on Sanguinetti Road. One person complained of a minor injury.

7:17 p.m., burglary A caller on the 600 block of Olive Street said a former tenant broke into a room at the house and stole items belonging to the caller.

9:52 p.m., resisting arrest A 28-year-old woman was booked on suspicion of resisting arrest on Greenley Road. According to a report, an officer tried to stop the woman for driving with an expired vehicle registration. The woman would not immediately pull over and when she did, she resisted the arrest, the officer said.

2:42 p.m., Burson A caller on the 14000 block of Camanche Parkway South heard men yelling, screaming and possibly shooting guns. A deputy responded and found a group of people clearing property. They had thrown canned foods into a fire and the cans exploded.

7:55 p.m., Valley Springs A man on the 3000 block of Berkesey Drive said his trailer was vandalized.

Felony bookings


11:03 a.m., Valley Springs David Ray Brenner, 36, 7000 block of Cassidy Road, Valley Springs, booked on suspicion of burglary and receiving stolen property after arrest at his home. As of this morning, he was still in custody in lieu of $25,000 bail.

3:25 p.m., San Andreas Sheryl Leeann Redding, 44, 400 block of Pennsylvania Gulch Road, Murphys, booked on suspicion of second-degree burglary by court order. As of this morning, she remained in custody in lieu of $15,000 bail.



11 p.m., Jenny Lind A defective water heater ignited a fire that damaged a home on the 100 block of Myrtle Street. Engines from the Jenny Lind, Foothill and San Andreas fire districts responded. The name of the owner and the extent of damage were unavailable.

5:30 p.m., San Andreas area A fire that destroyed a home at Hawver Ranch and Doster roads is still under investigation. The first caller reported the house "fully involved." Engines arrived at 5:45 p.m. and containment was reported at 6:02 p.m. Crews from the San Andreas, Foothill, Central and Altaville-Melones fire districts responded. The name of the owner and the value and size of the home were unavailable.
