Sheriff's reports

SUNDAY

9:40 a.m., Sierra Village A house on the 24900 block of Highway 108 was reported ransacked.

9:52 a.m., Phoenix Lake area A child's blue bicycle was found along Phoenix Lake Road near Longeway Road.

11:03 a.m., Sugar Pine A caller said a man driving a blue pickup was cutting down trees near the 24500 block of Tramway Road without permission.

12:41 p.m., Tuttletown A woman saw a man lying on the side of Tuttletown School House Road and Highway 49 near a motorcycle. A deputy checked the man, who said his motorcycle broke down and he was waiting for a ride.

2:13 p.m., Standard area A man on the 15200 block of Cavalieri Road said gasoline was stolen from his vehicle overnight.

2:47 p.m., Twain Harte A man on the 23000 block of Sierra Drive said his garage door was damaged when a piece of wood was torn off. Nothing was taken from the garage.

5:55 p.m., Soulsbyville A woman said she heard 10 booming noises, loud enough to rattle windows. A deputy couldn't find anything unusual in the area of Whitto Mine Road or Draper Mine Road.

7:33 p.m., Big Oak Flat A caller said a construction crew was blocking a roadway to a business on Old Priest Grade.

10:53 p.m., Don Pedro Reservoir area A man on the 5000 block of Avenida Lugo said he noticed a man sitting in a black Jeep near a neighbor's house and asked him what he was doing. The driver said he was an off-duty sheriff's deputy checking out a house. A sheriff's sergeant on duty was told about the call.

Felony bookings

FRIDAY

3:54 a.m., Sonora Stephen Kelly Dolan, 47, no address given, Sonora, booked on a felony parole hold and on suspicion of misdemeanor drunken driving after an arrest on South Barretta Street. He remained held this morning without bail.

SATURDAY

8:04 p.m., Tuolumne James Duane Kurth Jr., 31, 18700 block of Cedar Street, Tuolumne, booked on suspicion of burglary and misdemeanor battery after an arrest at his home.

According to a Sheriff's Department report, Kurth went to a nearby house with a baseball bat and demanded to speak to the neighbor's 9-year-old daughter about possibly stealing his video games. When the family would not allow Kurth in, Kurth kicked in the front door, the report said.

A deputy went to the neighbor's house, talked to the owners and their daughter, who was crying, then talked to Kurth and arrested him.

Kurth remained in custody this morning in lieu of $50,000 bail.

10:20 p.m., Sonora Donald Lynn Yager, 43, 2800 block of Marsh Lane, Riverbank, booked on suspicion of vehicle theft after an arrest on the 100 block of East Columbia Way, Sonora.

According to Sonora police reports, a woman on the 60 block of Dossi Way said Yager, her ex-boyfriend, stole her car from her driveway. Officers found the car and arrested Yager. He was released after posting $5,000 bail.

SUNDAY

2:39 a.m., Chinese Camp Susan Marie Edwards, 33, 10200 block of Pine Creek Road, Coulterville, booked on a felony parole hold and on suspicion of misdemeanor drunken driving after an arrest on Washington Street and Red Hills Road. She remained held this morning without bail.

Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol:

Lester Wade Lowe, 54, 10000 block of Horseshoe Bend Road, Sonora, booked at 11:08 p.m. Friday after arrest on Lyons Bald Mountain Road, Sonora. He was also booked on suspicion of driving with a license suspended for a previous drunken driving conviction.

Andres Zomora Gutierrez, 60, 600 block of Hayfield Court, Turlock, booked at 12:50 a.m. Saturday after arrest on Highway 108 east of Pinecrest.

Anthony Gambini Garcia, 69, 4900 block of Patterson Road, Oakdale, booked at 2:30 a.m. Saturday after arrest on Highway 108 at Sunshine Station.

James Thomas Harness, 51, undisclosed address on Mi Wu Street, Tuolumne, booked at 4:10 p.m. Saturday after arrest on South Fork Road at Wildcat Ridge Road.

Sonora police reports

SUNDAY

8:05 a.m., suspicious circumstances A woman on the 200 block of Sylvan Lane said she heard a shotgun blast coming from a building on Forest Road.

11:04 a.m., threats A man on the 100 block of Live Oak Drive said a man came onto his property and accused him of stealing a surfboard.

12:58 p.m., citizen assist A man flagged down an officer after seeing a woman wearing blue cutoff shorts, a light shirt and no shoes trying the doors of vehicles parked near Sonora High School.

2:58 p.m., traffic violation A woman said a disoriented elderly man was driving all over Mono Way in city limits. An officer checked but could not find the driver.

6:19 p.m., burglary A woman on the 300 block of North Washington Street said $290 was stolen out of her purse.

6:37 p.m., suspicious circumstances A woman said a man driving a pickup with a white camper shell had been parked behind a business in Sonora Crossroads shopping center all day. She thought he might be camping.

9:57 p.m., traffic violation A 19-year-old man was cited and released on suspicion of driving with a suspended license.

SUNDAY

8:29 a.m., Valley Springs A pressure washer was stolen from the 8000 block of Olive Branch Lane.

9:24 a.m., Rail Road Flat A man on the 3000 block of Prussian Hill said his house was ransacked.

10:42 a.m., Hathaway Pines A man said a former tenant was outside trying to provoke him.

2:34 p.m., West Point A person on the 300 block of Sawyer Road was cutting a tree and the tree fell on power lines, causing power outages.

2:36 p.m., West Point A woman on the 70 block of Acorn Way said a man was in her front yard throwing pumpkins and causing a disturbance. Deputies arrived to find the man tangled in a barbed wire fence.

4:04 p.m., Angels Camp A man was seen walking on the north side of the Stevenot Bridge with a rifle.

7:38 p.m., Burson A woman on the 12000 block of Pattison Road said she'd just arrived home when somebody came in through her front door and stole seven or eight guns from her house.

Felony bookings

SATURDAY

3:50 p.m., Valley Springs Jeffrey Lee Dearth, 45, 2000 block of Hall Avenue, Stockton, booked on suspicion of drug possession, altering vehicle registration, possessing a dangerous weapon, possessing drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license after arrest at the intersection of Highway 12 and Pine Street. As of this morning he was still in custody in lieu of $55,000 bail.

7:50 p.m., Jenny Lind Thomas James Moreno, 34, 1000 block of Main Street, Jenny Lind, booked on suspicion of felony parole violation after arrest in Jenny Lind. He was sent back to state prison.

Randy Lee Beni, 35, 2000 block of 2nd Street, Hilmar, booked at 4:40 p.m. Saturday after arrest at Forest Meadows.

Michael Richard Henderson, 53, 1000 block of Utica Powerhouse Road, Murphys, booked at 5:20 p.m. Saturday after arrest at Forest Meadows.

Fires

SATURDAY

8:15 p.m., Arnold A small spot fire was reported on the 4400 block of Foster Court. No damage was reported. The fire was caused by someone emptying hot ashes from a wood stove onto the ground. David Schwartz of the same address owns the property. California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection and Ebbetts Pass Fire Protection District responded.

SUNDAY

6 a.m., Arnold A fire was reported on the 1000 block of Skyline Drive. Damage to a single family dwelling was estimated at $30,000 to a wall, stud siding and rock work. H. Moser of the same address owns the property. The fire was caused by an improperly installed wood stove. CDF, Ebbetts Pass Fire Protection District and Bear Valley Fire Protection District responded.

10:15 a.m., Angels Camp A vehicle fire was reported on the 1500 block of Highway 49. CDF and Angels Camp Fire Protection District responded.
