7:28 a.m., Soulsbyville A woman said the office at Mittry and Sons was broken into and a petty cash box, blank checks and a shotgun were stolen from the business on the 20200 block of Dog Patch Lane.

7:39 a.m., Columbia A clerk at R & L Mini Mart on the 22200 block of Parrotts Ferry Road said two men were hanging around the back of the store, possibly camping in the area.

8:25 a.m., Columbia Sierra Gold Tea Company, on the 22700 block of Columbia Street, was reported burglarized.

8:32 a.m., Race Track Road area A woman on the 19900 block of Rough and Ready Trail found a suitcase outside her garage containing money, a gun-cleaning kit, ladies underwear and prescription glasses.

9:38 a.m., Don Pedro area A woman on the 2300 block of Zarzamora Court said she and her dog were threatened this morning by a man on a horse.

9:42 a.m., Tuolumne A sheriff's volunteer retrieved a pair of handcuffs from a person who found them in Tuolumne Park.

10:33 a.m., Columbia A woman said a car she left on Union Hill Road with a for sale sign on it was burglarized.

2:15 p.m., Tuttletown area A caller on the 8000 block of Wilcox Ranch Road said a neighbor was harassing her family because of a previous call to the sheriff's department.

2:25 p.m., Lambert Lake area A man on the 19000 block of Lambert Lake Road said he is having problems with a trespasser on his property.

2:55 p.m., Standard area A woman on the 20000 block of Peaceful Oak Road said a suspicious-looking car was in the area twice Tuesday morning. The car was described as a royal blue sedan.

3:24 p.m., Columbia A woman at Marble Quarry RV Park said a "huge" man in overalls driving a gold-colored pickup became irate when he was turned away from the park on the 11500 block of Yankee Hill Road.

3:50 p.m., Twain Harte A Twain Harte School employee said a student suspended from school keeps coming onto the campus and disrupting other students.

5:11 p.m., East Sonora An employee at Money Mart, in The Junction shopping center, said a man was in the store trying to cash a stolen check. The man drove away in a turquoise-colored car with a female passenger.

5:45 p.m., Tuolumne A woman on the 18100 block of Boden Hammer Avenue said an older white car was parked in front of her house for 10 minutes and it appeared the people inside were using drugs. The car left before a deputy arrived.

6:24 p.m., Race Track Road area A man on the 19900 block of Rough and Ready Trail said someone was moving onto his dead mother's property.

7:02 p.m., Phoenix Lake area A woman on the 21500 block of Phoenix Lake Road said trash was being illegally dumped into a community trash container.

8:46 p.m., Standard area A woman on Hatler Drive said she saw someone walking through the bushes with a flashlight. A deputy checked the area but found no one with a flashlight.

10:02 p.m., Columbia A woman on the 21900 block of Red Gulch Road said a woman came to her house and accused her of shutting off outside lights that the caller had no access to.

10:19 p.m., Soulsbyville A caller on the Sunshine Road said a woman was at her house threatening to "deliver people to heaven and hell." The woman was wearing a light-colored dress with a large hole in the back.

Felony bookings


8:46 a.m., Sonora Tracy Lynn Erskine, 41, undisclosed address on Blue Bell Road, booked on a warrant charging her with welfare fraud after an arrest at a motel on South Washington Street. She was released on her own recognizance Tuesday after appearing in court.

12:23 p.m., Sonora Steven Scott Snyder, 47, 18100 block of Eighth Avenue, Jamestown, booked on suspicion of burglary after an arrest at Pak-N-Save on Sanguinetti Road. A store manager reported seeing Snyder drinking alcohol in the store, which he had allegedly stolen because he had no money, a report said. Snyder remained in custody this morning in lieu of $15,000 bail.

11:06 p.m., Jamestown Road area Richard Marvin Hickey, 40, 19900 block of Rough and Ready Road, Sonora, booked on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm and a state parole hold after an arrest on the 19100 block of Jamestown Road. He remained held without bail this morning.

Benjamin James Zaharian, 42, 15200 block of Curtis Circle, Sonora, booked at 12:10 p.m. Tuesday after arrest on Highway 108 in Sugar Pine.

David Allen Edwards, 44, no address given, booked at 11:50 p.m. Tuesday after arrest on Stockton Road at Mill Villa Court, Sonora.

Leif Jarvie, 26, 11900 block of Jack Rabbit Trail Road, Sonora, booked at 1:05 a.m. yesterday after arrest on Sanguinetti Road at Highway 108, Sonora.

6 a.m. traffic accident A caller heard a traffic accident somewhere on South Washington Street. An officer checked the area, but did not find an accident.

6:08 a.m., traffic accident A caller said a vehicle hit his car parked on South Stewart Street and drove off.

7:13 a.m., vandalism A City of Sonora maintenance worker said William Street was marked with graffiti.

10:22 a.m., controlled substances A student was taken away from Sonora High School after a school resource officer found a small quantity of marijuana and cigarettes in the student's possession.

10:45 a.m., animal complaints A caller said a dog was locked inside an orange Volkswagen parked in a lot at Sonora Crossroads shopping center.

4:05 p.m., suspicious circumstances A caller said a girl was approached by a man in a white van about buying drugs on Pesce Way.

6:45 p.m., San Andreas A teenage boy was using a baseball bat to hit rocks toward other houses near Turner Park.


1 a.m., Jenny Lind A caller on the 7000 block of Kirby Street said a car-load of people was driving up and down the street throwing things out the windows and yelling obscenities.
