9:08 a.m., Sugar Pine A man said he found a 12-pack of beer on the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church grounds and a screwdriver near a kitchen window.

9:21 a.m., Tulloch Reservoir The owner of Lake Tulloch Campground said people he suspects of stealing items from several different campsites were still at the campground, and he asked for a deputy to talk to them.

10:19 a.m., Cedar Ridge A Belleview School employee said an outdoor freezer was pried open and food left on a school playground, a video camera was taken off a school roof and a computer was smashed on the playground.

11:03 a.m., Groveland Two women called 911 after hearing a man yelling for help. A Pine Mountain Lake security officer went to a house on Wells Fargo Drive and found a man in a wheelchair had rolled down a hill and couldn't get back up. The security officer helped the man back to his house.

11:35 a.m., Twain Harte A man on the 22400 block of Golf Club Drive said golf clubs were stolen from his garage.

12:56 p.m., Columbia The owner of Gold Mine Winery said three storage sheds and the winery building had been broken into.

1:11 p.m., Pinecrest Two women at a Pinecrest Lake campsite were fighting and a man was trying to calm them down, a caller said. A U.S. Forest Service officer spoke with one of the women at the Summit Ranger Station and then asked for a deputy to help evaluate one of the women for a possible mental condition.

4:56 p.m., Sonora area A woman said a man wearing a black mask and military fatigues was walking around Sonora Veterinary hospital on the 21100 block of Old Columbia Way with a rifle.

5:42 p.m., Groveland A woman said her car was scratched by two boys fighting in front of a store on the 19000 block of Main Street.

9:11 a.m., Jamestown A man was arrested on suspicion of public drunkenness after he was found walking along Stent Jacksonville Road. He told the deputy he argued with someone and was too drunk to go anywhere.

10:36 p.m., Groveland A woman said that as she was driving up Priest Grade Road, a truck in front of her braked suddenly. The woman and her passengers stopped at a store on Main Street and confronted the driver about stopping so quickly, and the woman said one of the people in the truck got out and pointed a gun at her.

Felony bookings


4:10 p.m., Sonora area Robert Dail, 46, no address given, booked on suspicion of possessing a switchblade and misdemeanor drunken driving and failure to stop after a traffic accident.

According to a California Highway Patrol report, witnesses to a hit-and-run accident said Dail was the driver who fled the scene. An officer found Dail a short distance away on Highway 49 and stopped him. When the officer searched Dail, he found a switchblade in his pants.

Dail remained in custody this morning in lieu of $50,000 bail.

10:17 p.m., Sonora Dean Alan Hahn, 18, 400 block of Russell Road, San Andreas, booked on suspicion of possessing a dangerous weapon a baseball bat after an arrest at Sonora High School.

A Sonora police report said Hahn told Sonora Police Officer Mike Christ that he was carrying the bat for protection because he had allegedly been threatened by three men. He said two or three months ago, the men stole a necklace from him and when he saw them again Friday night at a football game, they threatened him again.

Hahn remained in custody this morning in lieu of $10,000 bail.

10:33 p.m., Sonora Shawn Patrick Lemmon, 39, 10 block of Columbia Way, Sonora, booked on a Santa Clara County warrant charging him with possessing a controlled substance for sale and a new charge of suspicion of misdemeanor battery after an arrest at his home.

He remained in custody this morning without bail.


6:13 p.m., Sonora Richard James Barry, 20, 21300 block of Green Meadow Lane, Sonora, and Todd Edwin Weldon, 20, of the 19300 block of Grain View Street, both booked on warrants charging them with felony vandalism after they turned themselves in at the sheriff's department.

Barry and Weldon are suspected of causing more than $100,000 in damage to Phoenix Lake Golf Course by driving a four-wheel all-terrain vehicles onto five greens, along with another friend on Aug. 16. They were released after posting $10,000 bail each.

Another man, Matthew Harrison, 20, was booked on the same charge the night of the vandalism. He was also charged with misdemeanor drunken driving and misdemeanor possession of marijuana. Harrison remains free on $50,000 bond.


2:15 a.m., Volponi Acres Lesley Laverne Kuhl, 27, 18900 block of Golden Dove Lane, Jamestown area, booked on suspicion of possessing a dangerous weapon, being an ex-felon in possession of a firearm and a state parole hold after an arrest at her house.

According to a sheriff's department report, Kuhl and five men confronted a man and a woman about 10:30 p.m. at a Columbia apartment. The couple told deputies Kuhl was angry because she and her husband gave the couple $400 to purchase methamphetamine on Sept. 23.

Instead of buying the drugs, the couple said they bought food and gambled at Black Oak Casino.

The woman told police that on Saturday, Kuhl and the men forced her boyfriend into their truck and drove away. The woman called 911 and told a deputy where Kuhl lived and that she had a shotgun. Four officers went to Kuhl's house and found the woman's boyfriend and arrested Kuhl.

She remained held this morning in lieu of $10,000 bail.

2:27 a.m., Sonora George Michael Dennis, 37, no address given, Sonora, booked on a Department of Corrections warrant after an arrest at a motel in downtown Sonora. He remained held without bail this morning.

2:56 a.m., Sonora Robert Phillip Burciaga, 27, 19500 block of Mi-Wuk Street, Tuolumne, booked on suspicion of making criminal threats and misdemeanor drunken driving after an arrest in a parking lot near South Washington Street and Stockton Road.

According to a Sonora police report, Burciaga threatened a man who walked near Burciaga's car with a pistol, and told the man he would run him over with his black Ford Explorer. Burciaga remained held without bail and on a state parole hold this morning.

7:16 p.m., Jamestown area Gregory Trejo Sausedo, 23, 18600 block of Pradera Real Drive, Sonora, booked on a Santa Clara County warrant charging him with possessing a controlled substance for sale and being under the influence of a controlled substance after a traffic stop and arrest on Highway 108 at Chabroullian Lane. He remained held without bail this morning.

10:53 p.m., Jamestown Saul Guerrero, 19, unknown address, Manteca, booked on an Immigration and Naturalization Services hold after an arrest on Seventh Street, Jamestown. He remained held without bail this morning.

Melanie Pike Ellington, 54, no address given, Sonora, booked at 8:50 p.m. Saturday after arrest on Highway 108 at Soulsbyville Road, Soulsbyville.

Matthew Kelleher, 24, 8300 block of East Kadota Avenue, Le Grand, booked at 2:56 a.m. yesterday after arrest on the 40 block of Columbia Way, Sonora.



7:30 a.m., Sonora A fire was reported in the restroom of Rotary Park. City of Sonora owns the property. Sonora City Fire Department responded.

1:48 a.m., public fight A caller said there was fight in front of a bar on the 100 block of South Washington Street.

9:58 a.m., vandalism A 1997 Ford pickup parked on South Green Street was vandalized.

10:01 a.m., vandalism Two vehicles belonging to military recruiters were vandalized. One was parked in a lot on Shepherd Street and another on Lyons Street.

10:06 a.m., traffic accident No one was injured in a rear-end collision on Restano Way.

10:21 a.m. disorderly conduct A 41-year-old man was booked on suspicion of disorderly conduct and a no-bail warrant for failure to appear on a previous disorderly conduct charge, after an arrest at a motel on the 400 block of Stockton Road. A clerk said the man was causing a disturbance over his bill.

10:46 a.m., vandalism A woman on the 100 block of Greenley Road said her front driver's-side tire was slashed while the vehicle was parked in a carport.

11:12 a.m., traffic accident No one was injured, but two cars were towed away after an accident in a parking lot on Sanguinetti Road.

3:37 p.m., miscellaneous harassment A woman said a man was following her around town in his vehicle, harassing her.

8:22 p.m., suspicious circumstances A man said employees he recently fired were taking food out the back door of a restaurant on the 100 block of South Washington Street.

10:03 p.m., animal complaints A woman said when she was out for a walk, a small dog ran up to her. The dog was turned over to animal control.

10:12 a.m., Glencoe A gate on the 4600 block of Independence Road was vandalized.

10:30 p.m., Murphys A motorcycle was stolen from a garage on the 100 block of Mitchler Avenue.

3:08 p.m., Valley Springs A man and a woman were seen fighting on the 200 block of Cedar Street, then leaving in a vehicle.

3:31 p.m., West Point A caller on Hidden Oaks Road said an ATM card was being fraudulently used to buy items on the Home Shopping Network.

5:41 p.m., Arnold A caller said teenagers were harassing customers in front of Round Table Pizza on Highway 4.

6:50 p.m., San Andreas A caller said people were riding dirt bikes in an empty field on the 100 block of Belleview Street.

8:03 p.m., Valley Springs A caller on the 100 block of Pine Street said someone or something was on the roof.

9:16 p.m., Camanche Reservoir A caller heard someone yelling from a boat on the lake and a horn honking.

11:23 p.m., Avery A caller said a suspicious-looking truck was backed up to an embankment on the 1400 block of Love Creek Road.


2:09 a.m., Murphys A caller said an intoxicated woman was passed out on the second-floor hallway of the Murphys Inn Motel and was snoring. The woman was arrested.

2:10 a.m., Murphys A man seen on Highway 4 in Murphys, bleeding, refused medical treatment.

Felony bookings


1:12 a.m., Toyon Antoine Joseph Peruch, 55, 5000 block of North Staples, Linden, booked on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance and misdemeanor destruction of evidence, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest after an arrest on Highway 12 at Highway 26.

No details were available. He remained in custody this morning in lieu of $35,000 bail.
