Sheriff's reports


12:10 a.m., Cuesta Serena A woman said her daughter's purse was stolen from a vehicle parked on the 18200 block of Avenida Bonita. At 1 p.m. the woman called back to say the purse, minus $30, was found on the corner of Avenida Bonita and Campbells Flat Road.

2:32 a.m., Mi-Wuk Village A man said three people in a small car were shining their headlights around the 24700 block of Highway 108 as if they were looking for something.

8:49 a.m., Phoenix Lake area A woman on the 20400 block of Phoenix Lake Road said a large bag of garbage was dumped in front of her house.

9:43 a.m., Twain Harte A man saw a window open at a vacant house on the 22000 block of Highland Drive. He thought it was suspicious because there was a red car at the house a week ago for less than an hour.

11:09 a.m., Columbia Gasoline was rerported siphoned out of two county vehicles parked overnight at the Tuolumne County Agricultural Commissioner's office, on the 22300 block of South Airport Road.

11:31 a.m., Jamestown A woman on the 10300 block of Preston Lane said an electric scooter and a charger were stolen.

1:20 p.m., Standard area A woman was concerned that people riding dirt bikes in tall grass near Lambert Lake Road would start a fire.

3:40 p.m., Sonora The Tuolumne General Hospital emergency room reported treating a man for 3-day-old stab wounds to his armpit and lower arm. A deputy spoke with the man, who refused to say who stabbed him.

7:02 p.m., Soulsbyville area A deputy cited a taxi driver for two vehicle infractions on Highway 108 near Haystack Road.

7:04 p.m., Tuolumne A man on the 18000 block of Evergreen Drive said a safe was stolen from his house after someone got in through a window.

8:40 p.m., Twain Harte A woman on the 23000 block of Mount Elizabeth Road said an evicted tenant was throwing things around.

9:52 p.m., Columbia A caller said two vehicles were in a vacant lot on Gravel Mine Road. The drivers were tearing up the land and trespassing, the caller said.


1:21 a.m., Columbia A woman on the 13000 block of Big Hill Road said a neighbor's dog has been "barking for three years." The woman was told to call Tuolumne County Animal Control.

Felony bookings


12:52 a.m., Big Oak Flat Tommy Eugene McKeever, 43, 11000 block of Big Oak Flat Road, Big Oak Flat, booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor battery after arrest at his home.

According to the sheriff's log, McKeever tried to pull a 17-year-old girl out of a car, then hit the same car with a baseball bat. Three people called 911.

He was held this morning in lieu of $30,000 bail.


1:51 a.m., Sonora Cassidy Suzanne Coffey, 22, 20200 block of Sparrow Lane, Sonora, booked on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance and misdemeanor driving with a suspended license after a traffic stop and arrest on Shepherd and Theall streets, Sonora.

She was held this morning in lieu of $5,000 bail.

11:08 p.m., Twain Harte A 34-year-old Twain Harte man was booked on suspicion of felony cohabitant abuse and damaging a telephone line after an arrest at his home. No details were available. He was held this morning in lieu of $35,000 bail.

11:29 p.m., Sonora Timothy Drake Livingston, 39, 10200 block of Preston Lane, Jamestown, booked on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and a switchblade knife after an arrest at Shepherd and Lyons streets, Sonora. No details were available. He was held this morning in lieu of $5,000 bail.

Craig Ira Ingles, 40, 22700 block of Confidence Road, Twain Harte, booked at 11:55 p.m. Friday after arrest on Twain Harte Drive at Joaquin Gully Road, Twain Harte.

Salomon Vincente Guzman, 31, 2800 block of Country Club Drive, Stockton, booked at 2:30 a.m. Saturday after arrest on Highway 120 at Powder House Road, Groveland.

Julie Dee Klammer, 44, 20600 block of Eden Lane, Tuolumne, booked at 3:45 a.m. Saturday after arrest on Hess Avenue and Tuolumne Road, Standard area.

Norma Elizabeth Selmser, 55, 19800 block of Greenview Drive, Twain Harte, booked at 4 p.m. Saturday after arrest on Stockton Road at Solinsky Street, Sonora.

Tony David Kassay, 24, 21300 block of Tuolumne Road, Tuolumne, booked at 1:20 a.m. Sunday after arrest on Mono Way at Greenley Road, Sonora. He was also booked on suspicion of possessing less than an ounce of marijuana.

Earl Ray Martin, 46, 5100 block of Tyson Street, Modesto, booked at 2:30 a.m. Sunday after arrest on Highway 108 at Industrial Way, East Sonora.

Ervin Jerry Irion, 57, 20600 block of Hekeke Way, Mi-Wuk Village, booked at noon Sunday after arrest on Highway 108 at Middle Camp Road, Twain Harte.

Scott Andrew Murray, 18, 5200 block of Sierra Road, San Jose, booked at 7:53 p.m. Sunday after arrest on Highway 120 at O'Byrnes Ferry Road.

Mathew Benjamin Elieh, 25, 100 block of Burning Tree Drive, San Jose, booked at 10:05 p.m. Monday after arrest on Highway 108 south of Rawhide Road, Jamestown.



5:45 p.m., Sonora area A grass and utility pole fire was reported at an undisclosed address on Lime Kiln Road. The fire was caused by a vehicle that ran into the utility pole. Damage was estimated at $1,300 to the pole and 1 1/2 acres of grass. Denny Daoust of the Sonora area owns the land. California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, Tuolumne County Fire Department, all aircraft from Columbia Air Base, Sonora City Fire Department and one dozer from Baseline Conservation Camp responded.


6 p.m., Twain Harte A small spot fire was reported at the remains of the already burned Twain Harte Inn on the 22900 block of Twain Harte Drive. Arsonists caused the fire. Anyone with information is asked to call CDF Battalion Chief Richard Imlach at 532-0821. Twain Harte Community Services District Fire Department, CDF and Tuolumne County Fire Department responded.


1:30 p.m., Jamestown A small spot fire was reported on the 10600 block of Calamity Jane Road. No dollar damage was reported. The fire was caused by discarded smoking material. Mary Keller of the same address owns the property. CDF, Jamestown Fire Protection District and Tuolumne County Fire Protection District responded.

Sonora police reports


1:44 p.m., public fight A caller said a man and a woman in a white Honda were hitting each other. The woman left in the car, and the man walked away before an officer arrived.

9:31 p.m., reckless driving A caller said someone was driving recklessly up and down Southgate Drive. An officer could not find the driver.

11:52 p.m., suspicious circumstances A caller said four men in an aqua-colored Jeep were drinking alcohol while parked on the 300 block of Fairview Lane.


12:24 a.m., suspicious circumstances An officer stopped a man seen stumbling while walking on South Washington Street near Wyckoff Street.

12:49 a.m., warrant arrest A 37-year-old woman was arrested on a Tuolumne County warrant after an officer stopped her on Greenley Road.

9:21 a.m., Mountain Ranch A motorhome on the 7000 block of Freccero Road was broken into.

11:05 a.m., San Andreas A stereo and speakers were stolen from a vehicle on the 500 block of Lewis Avenue.

10:24 p.m., San Andreas A man said his wife was throwing things in the kitchen after they had an argument.

David Edward White, 43, 3000 block of Winegarden Drive, Modesto, booked at 10:06 p.m. Saturday after arrest on Highway 4, west of the county line, near Copperopolis.

George Omar Gatica, 25, 4000 block of Andedon Circle, Sacramento, booked at 8:40 p.m. Sunday after arrest at the Texaco gas station on Highway 49 in San Andreas.

Manuel Torres, 21, first block of North Central Avenue, Lodi, booked at 2:18 a.m. Monday after arrest at the intersection of Boards Crossing and Sierra Parkway.



1:30 a.m., White Pines area A fire was reported on Summit Level Road. Damage was estimated at $4,000 to 1 acre of timber. Cause is under investigation. Stanislaus National Forest owns the land. CDF and Ebbetts Pass Fire Protection District responded.

9:30 p.m., Arnold A tractor fire was reported on the 100 block of Brandy Flat Court. Damage was estimated at $1,000. An electrical short caused the fire. Brian Gambill of the same address owns the 1989 Kubota. Foothill Fire Protection District, CDF, and Mokelumne Hill Fire Protection District responded.


11:45 a.m., Valley Springs area A 150-acre wildland fire was reported on Highway 26. Hot vehicle exhaust ignited the flames. Damage was estimated at $30,000 to the watershed. CDF, San Andreas Fire Protection District, Mokelumne Hill Fire Protection District, Foothill Fire Protection District, all aircraft from Columbia Air Base, two crews from Vallecito Conservation Camp, one crew from Baseline Conservation Camp and one dozer from the Altaville CDF station responded.

3:30 p.m., Arnold A vehicle fire was reported on the 1800 block of Antler Drive. Damage was estimated at $8,000 to a 1994 Nissan pickup. Bruce Ashbaugh, address unknown, owns the truck. The fire was caused by the spontaneous combustion of oily rags. CDF and Ebbetts Pass Fire Protection District responded.
