A murder victim whose body was found Monday at her Don Pedro house has been identified as 54-year-old Mary Priscilla Bisbing.

And Tuol-umne County Sheriff's investigators want to talk with Bisbing's live-in boyfriend who is missing and has been twice arrested on charges of beating her.

Sought is Michael Allan Cook, 45, who may have driven away in Bisbing's 1997 green, four-door Ford Escort, California license number 3SCP327.

Sheriff's Lt. John Steely said Cook is wanted for questioning and has not been named as a suspect.

Bisbing's body was identified through dental records late yesterday, said Steely. Other than to say she was murdered, Steely declined to say how Bisbing, 54, died or give any other details about the case.

Bisbing's body was discovered around 9 a.m. Monday after a sheriff's deputy went to the house on the 4800 block of Arbolada Drive. The double-wide mobile home sits on a knoll at the end of a long driveway.

Bisbing's sister, Vivian Carlisle of Reno, had called the sheriff's department to report she had been trying to reach Bisbing since Aug. 16, Bisbing's birthday.

Bisbing's daughter said she last spoke with her mother on Friday, Aug. 15, and Cook was in the house after recently being released from jail.

"I couldn't believe my mother was welcoming him back to her house after what he did to her," said the daughter, Michelle, of Orange County. She declined to give her last name because she said she is afraid of Cook.

The daughter said she also tried 25 times to call Bisbing on Aug. 16 and never reached her.

Michelle said she knew the relationship between her mother and Cook was tumultuous and because of past threats and past beatings, Michelle was worried for her mother's safety.

Michelle said her mother and Cook moved to Don Pedro from Orange County last October.
