Sheriff's reports


1:07 p.m., Twain Harte A man on the 22800 block of Confidence Road said landscaping lights were stolen from his front yard and skateboarders used his retaining wall for "grinding."

1:48 p.m., East Sonora A caller said three small children had been left alone in a black SUV with the windows rolled up, but the woman driver left before a deputy arrived.

3:26 p.m., Pinecrest A man said his wife hit him on the head with an iron grill while the two were camping. He said he has a lump on his head and temporarily lost consciousness.

3:29 p.m., Jamestown A man on the 18100 block of Seco Street said a CD player, CDs and money were stolen from his vehicle overnight.

4:45 p.m., Jamestown A caller said a man and woman were seen fighting inside a white car on Rawhide Road.

4:57 p.m., Jamestown A be-on-the-lookout order was issued for a 1974 Ford Pinto station wagon stolen from a house on the 10600 block of Seventh Street.

6:50 p.m., Sonora A yellow 1977 Toyota Corolla was stolen from a Sonora Plaza parking lot.

7:51 p.m., Tuolumne A caller said two men, one sitting on a tire on the 18000 block of Tuolumne Road, were arguing.

9:16 p.m., Cedar Ridge A man on the 22300 block of Kuien Mill Road said he returned home early from a trip to find a man there who said he was a friend of his daughter's. The man ran off before the homeowner could question him further.

10:06 p.m., East Sonora A man said an Albertson's cart was stolen and put inside the bed of a pickup. When a clerk asked the driver not to take the cart, a woman in the truck said she was mad at the store because a clerk would not cash a check.


2:10 a.m., Twain Harte A 7-Eleven clerk said two women and a man came into the store on the 22900 block of Joaquin Gully Road and stole two bottles of "Mt. Diablo."

Felony bookings


3:30 p.m., Groveland area Ignacio Rivera Gomez, 39, 1700 block of Dallas, and Lluliana Amezcua Delatorre, 21, 1500 block of Atlantic Drive, both in Modesto, booked on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance after an arrest on Evergreen Road. Gomez was also booked on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance and Delatorre on suspicion of obstructing a peace officer.

No details were available.

They remained held this morning in lieu of $10,000 bail each.


5:15 a.m., Sonora Barry Jay Rosa, 35, undisclosed address, Sonora, booked on a Tuolumne County warrant charging him with vehicle theft and suspicion of misdemeanor drunken driving, disorderly conduct and giving a false report of a crime to a police officer.

He was arrested on the 300 block of South Shepherd Street by Sonora Police Officer John Bowly, who stopped Rosa because he suspected he was driving under the influence. The officer discovered the warrant and arrested Rosa. He remained in custody this morning in lieu of $23,000 bail.

4 p.m., Cold Springs Peter Evan Fredotovich, 20, 300 block of Marlow Drive, Oakland, and Peter Anthony Beoris,18, 200 block of Joaquin Avenue, San Leandro, booked on suspicion of receiving stolen property after an arrest on Lassen Drive, Cold Springs. There were no details from the sheriff's department. Fredotovich was released after posting $10,000 bail yesterday. Beoris was released Sunday after also posting $10,000 bail.


1:35 a.m., Jamestown Juan Antonio Balbuena, 24, 10600 block of Seventh Street, Jamestown, booked on suspicion of possessing a controlled narcotic substance after an arrest on Seventh Street. He remained held this morning in lieu of $25,000 bail.


Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol:

Isaac Nava Leal, 35, 16600 block of Apple Colony Road, Tuolumne, booked at 10:10 p.m. Friday after arrest on North Tuolumne Road, Tuolumne.

David Mark Dubner, 43, 10500 block of North Airport Road, Columbia, booked at 3:31 a.m. Saturday after arrest at Stewart and Bradford streets, Sonora.

Daniel James Rupe, 51, 22400 block of South Airport Road, Columbia, booked at 10:45 p.m. Saturday after arrest on Highway 108 east of Sanguinetti Road, Sonora

Ricky Michael Baldonado, 18, 16500 block of Draper Mine Road, Soulsbyville, booked at 2:55 a.m. Sunday after arrest on Middle Camp Road north of Wildwood Road, Twain Harte.



5:15 p.m., Don Pedro area A 1987 motor home owned by Dennis Ray Winger of San Jose sustained $3,000 damage to its engine compartment in a fire on Highway J59 at Bonds Flat Road. California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection and Tuolumne County Fire Department responded.


4:45 p.m., Don Pedro Three acres of oak woodland burned on Lozano Road near Don Pedro Reservoir. Damage is estimated at $900. Evan Hatler of Coulterville owns the land. The cause of the fire is under investigation. California Department of Forestry, a baseline crew, Tuolumne County Fire Department and all air craft from Columbia responded.


9:15 a.m., Phoenix Lake A spot fire on Forest Service property on Mount Elizabeth Road caused no dollar damage. The Forest Service and California Department of Forestry responded.

3 p.m., Groveland Three acres of Forest Service timber burned on Buchanan Road, between Tuolumne and Groveland. Damage is estimated at $1,500. Forest Service, California Department of Forestry, two crews from baseline camp and all aircraft from Columbia Air Attack Base responded.


8:30 p.m., Camp Nine A spot fire on the Tuolumne-Calaveras county line under the Parrotts Ferry Bridge caused no dollar damage. The Bureau of Reclamation owns the property. California Department of Forestry, Angles Camp Fire Department, Murphys Fire Protection District, two crews from Vallecito Conservation Camp and one dozer from Altaville CDF responded.

11:50 p.m., Sonora A fire in a trash can behind Alfredo's Mexican Restaurant on the 100 block of South Washington Street was extinguished quickly by Sonora City Fire Department.

Sonora police reports


9:29 a.m., public disturbance A caller said a woman was causing a disturbance at Tuolumne General Hospital and refused to leave. An officer spoke with the woman but let her go.

10:17 a.m., arrests A woman on the 900 block of South Washington Street called police to say a man was causing a disturbance at the house. The officer arrested a 41-year-old man suspected of causing the disturbance and a 37-year-old woman was arrested on a misdemeanor Calaveras County warrant for failure to appear in court on a charge of drunken driving.

10:30 a.m., traffic accident No one was injured in a traffic accident at Wyckoff and Snell streets. Both drivers exchanged information.

2:10 p.m., animal complaints A caller on Elm Street said a neighbor's dog had gotten tangled up and couldn't get to a water dish. The dog would not let the caller near it to help, so the person called for an animal control officer.

8:40 p.m., suspicious circumstances A caller walking a dog past Sonora Police Department said there was a man acting strangely. An officer talked to the man, who was practicing Tae Kwon Do in a parking lot.

10:41 p.m., public peace A caller said teens were speeding through a parking lot near Sonora High School, possibly engaging in drug activity.


Sheriff's reports


6:51 a.m., Arnold Windows of a car were smashed on the 1000 block of Maple Street.

2:26 p.m., Burson Dynamite was ignited near Flintstone Road. The sheriff's report states the blast was legitimate.

6:49 p.m., Arnold A man said he was walking his dogs behind White Pines Lake when another dog came and attacked his dogs.

9:38 p.m., Valley Springs A caller from a gas station said five men were fighting. Deputies arrived but were unable to find a fight.

10:53 p.m., Arnold A woman on the 2000 block of Black Oak Drive said she was being harassed by her ex-boyfriend, who was in front of her house "skidding his tires."


3 a.m., Copperopolis A man on the 1000 block of Iroquois Circle said he found his house's door partially open and saw someone jump down from his deck.

Felony bookings


11:54 p.m., San Andreas Robert Carl Costa, 31, 500 block of Lewis Avenue, San Andreas, was booked on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance and possessing a hypodermic needle after his arrest at a San Andreas apartment complex. As of this morning he was still in custody in lieu of $20,000 bail.

3:05 p.m., San Andreas A 41-year-old San Andreas woman was booked on suspicion of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, lewd and lascivious acts with a child, willful cruelty to a child and contributing to the delinquency of a minor after her arrest at the Calaveras County Sheriff's Department. A sheriff's report said the woman was having sex with a 15-year-old boy and supplying him and another boy with drugs. As of this morning she was still in custody in lieu of $140,000 bail.


10:47 p.m., Arnold Aaron Cameron Faught, 33, 800 block of Moran Road, Arnold, booked on suspicion of possessing marijuana and carrying a loaded firearm in public after arrest at Dowds Landing Road. This morning, he remained in custody in lieu of $40,000 bail.

10:47 p.m., Arnold James Alexander Qualls, 31, 1100 block of Highway 4, Arnold, booked on suspicion of possessing marijuana and a controlled substance after arrest by the State Fish and Game Department at Dowds Landing Road. As of this morning he was still in custody in lieu of $20,000 bail.


8:05 a.m., Lake Camanche Robert Michael Hedges, 42, 14000 block of Brown Lane, Burson, booked on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance after arrest at Lake Camanche. He was cited and released.

4:28 a.m., Angels Camp Randy Taylor Henington, 49, 19000 block of Cameron, Sonora, booked on suspicion of possessing and selling a controlled substance and possessing related paraphernalia, having expired vehicle registration and parole violation after arrest on Highway 49. He remained in custody this morning in lieu of $105,000 bail.

Rebecca Amber Larkin, 34, 2000 block of East Eight Mile Road, Lodi, booked at 9:50 p.m. Saturday after arrest at a Wallace gas station.



6:20 p.m., Mokelumne Hill area A motor home was destroyed in a fire that spread to 8 acres of grass on Highway 26 near Glencoe. The damage estimate was $1,500 to grass and $20,000 to the 1989 Pace Arrow motor home owned by Dominie Magri of Vacaville. CDF, Foothill and Central fire protection districts, aircraft from Columbia Air Attack Base and two inmate crews from Vallecito Conservation Camp responded.
