6:19 a.m., Jamestown A woman said a suspicious-looking man with long, dirty hair and a beard, carrying a knapsack, was talking to himself and acting strange while walking down Main Street.

9:21 a.m., Sonora area A bicycle valued at $120 was stolen from a house on the 10500 block of Mt. Brow Road.

11:17 a.m., Cedar Ridge A woman on the 23900 block of Hitching Post Road said a strange man came into her house, took food out of her refrigerator because the Lord told him to, he told her, and left.

12:01 p.m., Jamestown A custom hubcap was stolen from a vehicle parked on the 10700 block of Wigwam Road.

12:46 p.m., Greenley Road area A woman said a Veterans Service bus had been shot with paintballs.

1:01 p.m., Pinecrest A vehicle parked at Lair of the Bear camp on Pinecrest Lake Road was vandalized.

2:17 p.m., Sugar Pine A house and travel trailer on the 24000 block of Pine Lake Drive were burglarized.

3:20 p.m., Quail Hollow A caller said a man tried to run over a 5-year-old boy visiting the caller at an apartment on the 12700 block of Chukar Circle.

4:43 p.m., Jamestown A woman said a man walking on Preston Lane was staggering and appeared to be under the influence of something.

6:51 p.m., Wards Ferry area Several callers heard yelling and screaming and possibly gunshots coming from a house on the 18000 block of Wards Ferry Road.

8:05 p.m., Dardanelle A man said several customers have come into a store at Kennedy Meadows to say they saw a man missing from Modesto hanging around the store. The man pointed to a flier posted at the store and said it was him, but he is not lost.

9:06 p.m., Groveland A house on the 9000 block of Smith Station Road was burglarized.


2:10 a.m., Pinecrest A caller said about 20 people were in front of a business on Pinecrest Avenue yelling and screaming. When the caller asked them to quiet down, they laughed at him and made more noise. A deputy talked to a bartender at the business who said there were 150 people staying in a nearby lodge having a family reunion.

8:17 a.m., Cedar Ridge A caller on the 24200 block of Oxbow Road said he was told by his neighbor that a man tried to let his dog loose from his residence. The neighbor confronted the man, who said "God told me to set the dog free." The neighbor told the man to put the dog back and leave, and the man complied, the caller said.

11:10 a.m., Jamestown A man on the 10200 block of Preston Lane said seven people were loitering near the apartment complex in which he lives.

12:34 p.m., Sonora area A man on the 18300 block of Jacobs Road said someone vandalized a mailbox with a bat or iron bar.

1:39 p.m., Jamestown A man reported the theft of three Palm Pilots, three cell phones, two wallets and other items from a car parked at Tulloch Reservoir.

1:44 p.m., Jamestown A man on the 10300 block of Preston Lane reported a mail theft.

4:30 p.m., Sonora area A woman on the 20800 block of Longeway Road said she found a suspicious pill in a bottle of ibuprofen.

6:54 p.m., Sonora area A woman on the 12700 block of Chukar Circle said a possibly intoxicated man was yelling and screaming while riding a 10-speed bike.

8:43 p.m., Tuolumne The manager of the River Ranch Campground reported a disturbance between two men just outside the camp gates. The pair were screaming but the manager was unsure if the confrontation turned physical. Both eventually left and headed toward Tuolumne City.

9:22 p.m., Tuolumne A woman on the 19000 block of Carter Street said a teenager was skateboarding in front of her residence. Her husband confronted the teen, who threatened to return and blow up her home, she said.

9:52 p.m., Columbia A man said three people assaulted him at a residence on Parrotts Ferry Road. The man said he suffered injuries to his face.

11:52 p.m., Jamestown A woman on the 19100 block of Peppermint Falls Road said her mailbox had been smashed earlier that evening.


12:08 a.m., Jamestown A caller on the 10600 block of River Oak Court said a potted plant was taken from a neighbor's home and dumped in the middle of the street. The caller said he removed the pot from the road and would return it to the neighbor in the morning.

1:34 a.m., East Sonora A woman said man appeared to be having problems with his bike on Phoenix Lake Road. She was worried for his safety because she had a hard time seeing him, she said.

8:31 a.m., Jamestown A man said he believed someone shot at his windshield while he was driving down Jacksonville Road. The man said he heard a loud bang and then something hit his windshield.

8:35 a.m., Sonora area A woman on the 20300 block of Sunshine Road said someone stole three bracelets from her garage sale. She estimated the loss at $150.

9:28 a.m., Jamestown A man on the 10000 block of Gold Links Road said someone smashed his birdbath during the night.

11:10 a.m., Sonora area A man on the 18500 block of Pradera Real Road reported a mailbox had been vandalized. The loss was valued at $200.

11:39 a.m., Twain Harte A caller said three teenage boys were going through mailboxes as they were walking down Tuolumne Road.

12:30 p.m., Jamestown A man on the 17000 block of Plaza Del Sur said someone stole a mailbox.

5:01 p.m., Jamestown A man said a group of four men and a woman were drinking alcohol and urinating on the side of the 111000 block of Golf Links Road.

8:39 p.m., Twain Harte A caller reported two juveniles were climbing on a water tower on Tanager Drive.


1:27 a.m., Twain Harte A man said someone was driving on Twain Harte Drive with an open container of alcohol.

7:24 a.m., burglary A Garcia's Taqueria employee said the business was burglarized overnight.

8:20 a.m., burglary A vehicle parked on the 100 block of East Lyons Street was broken into when a window was smashed with a rock.

10:34 a.m., traffic accident No one was injured in a traffic accident on South Shepherd Street when a vehicle collided with a bridge.

11:20 a.m., theft A Ross Dress for Less employee was taken into custody after an arrest on suspicion of stealing money from the store safe.

12:02 p.m., traffic accident No one was hurt in a traffic accident on Mono Way.

4:49 p.m., traffic accident No one was hurt in an accident on Stockton Road near a Highway 108 overpass.


12:02 a.m., disorderly conduct A caller reported teenagers were spinning doughnuts in a parking lot on the 1100 block of Sanguinetti Road. The caller suspected the group was drinking.

9:26 a.m., traffic violation A 45-year-old man was cited on suspicion of driving without a license on South Shepherd Street.

11:06 a.m., traffic accident A non-injury traffic accident occurred on the first block of South Washington Street.

11:33 p.m., theft A man said a woman stole money from him at a business on the first block of South Washington Street.


1:01 a.m., fight Police were told two people were fighting on the sidewalk of the 100 block of South Washington Street.

3:36 a.m., public intoxication A 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication and vandalism. He was arrested in the lobby of a business on the 100 block of South Washington Street.

12:27 p.m., theft A woman on the 11300 block of Racetrack Road said someone racked up more than $900 in charges on her daughter's cell phone, which was lost two months ago.

1:10 p.m., traffic accident A woman reported a traffic accident on Sanguinetti Road. One person involved complained of pain.

4:49 p.m., lost property A woman on the 24100 block of Awahanee Road said a cell phone was either lost or stolen.

4:55 p.m., traffic accident A woman said a truck hit her car while it was parked in a lot of the 1000 block of Mono Way. A witness told her he saw a Toyota Tacoma hit her car and leave the scene.

6:19 p.m., liquor violation A 20-year-old man was cited and released on suspicion on being a minor in possession of alcohol. The incident occurred on the first block of Linoberg Street.


3:35 a.m., disorderly conduct A man reported a loud party on the first block of Linoberg Street.

8:46 a.m., Camanche Deputies helped a park ranger remove some juveniles from a campground.

12:36 p.m., Valley Springs Deputies helped remove a Jeep that was stuck in water at Wrinkle Cove.

12:44 p.m., Burson Deputies assisted California Highway Patrol officers who were trying to catch an ostrich running loose on the 5000 block of Baldwin Street. A CHP officer and a resident finally corralled the big bird.

2:08 p.m., Valley Springs A Longs Drugs employee claimed somebody left without paying for photos they had developed.

2:16 p.m., Arnold A bass guitar, coins and other items were reported stolen from a house on the 2000 block of Elizabeth Drive.

3:01 p.m., Valley Springs A person was detained and cited for shoplifting a pack of cigarettes from Longs Drugs.

4:17 p.m., Valley Springs A woman on the 3000 block of Delin Way said she'd just arrived home and found that several items were stolen from her house.

4:27 p.m., Copperopolis A driver on O'Byrnes Ferry Road lost control and slid into the guard rail. The driver sustained minor injuries.

5:45 p.m., Valley Springs Two cars collided, causing one of them to spin off of Olive Orchard Road. Minor injuries were sustained.

5:51 p.m., San Andreas A car on Mountain Ranch Road was broadsided by an oncoming vehicle. Minor injuries were sustained.

5:56 p.m., Valley Springs A car leaving a parking lot on Acorn East struck the rear end of a passing car. Minor injuries were sustained.

11:16 p.m., Mokelumne Hill A caller on the 10000 block of Jesus Maria Road said a fallen tree was blocking the road.


6:10 a.m., Murphys A business on Highway 4 was vandalized.

2:23 p.m., Arnold A caller said someone used an explosive device to damage a mailbox on the 2000 block of Pine Drive.

2:55 p.m., Murphys Authorities received a report that someone broke into a rental property on the first block of Main Street and stole a bottle of wine and a spare key.

3:07 p.m., San Andreas A caller said a loud party was going on at a condemned residence on the 5300 block of Hawver Road.

4:04 p.m., Arnold A car on the 2200 block of East Highway 26 was vandalized.


12:39 p.m., Rancho Calaveras A car on the 8400 block of Pardini Place was vandalized.

4:58 p.m., Copperopolis A caller reported seeing lights going on and off in a house on the 2900 block of Beaver Road that should be vacant.

6:36 p.m., San Andreas A man on the 600 block of Mountain Ranch Road said two men in a blue truck were threatening to beat him up.

6:50 p.m., Valley Springs Deputies were told that three intoxicated juveniles were walking down Myrtle Street.


12:09 a.m., Burson A caller said people were camping and having a loud party on vacant property on the 1200 block of Pattison Road.

Felony bookings


6:45 a.m., San Andreas Alfred James Cisneros, 30, 2000 block of White Water Drive, Bull Head City, Ariz., was taken into custody in San Diego County and transported to Calaveras County, where he was booked on a warrant for vehicle theft. He was released on his own recognizance.



7:30 a.m., Railroad Flat area A small spot fire was reported on Warregard Road. No dollar damage was reported. Lightning caused the fire. California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection and Central Fire Protection District responded.

8 a.m., Arnold area A small spot fire was reported on Summit Level Road near White Pines. Lightning caused the fire. Sierra Pacific Industries owns the land. CDF responded.

1 p.m., Mountain Ranch A quarter-acre fire was reported off Swiss Ranch Road. The fire was caused by lightning. CDF, one crew from Baseline Conservation Camp and two air tankers and one air attack from Columbia Air Base responded.

4 p.m., Mountain Ranch area A small spot fire was reported on the 12900 block of Whiskey Slide Road. No dollar damage was reported. Landowner is undetermined. CDF and Central Fire Protection District responded.
