7:12 a.m., Jamestown The Jamestown Elementary School maintenance supervisor said a pay telephone at the school was removed from its harness, taken to the back of the school and beaten with a heavy object. Vandals were not able to get any money out of it.

8:16 a.m., Greenley Oaks A woman on the 20000 block of Eaton Court said $7 was stolen from her vehicle.

12:43 p.m., Lyons Bald Mountain Road area A mountain bike was stolen from a house on the 21900 block of Lyons Bald Mountain Road in the last week.

1:34 p.m., Twain Harte A man said seven teens were drinking alcohol in a parking lot on the 18700 block of Tiffeni Drive and causing a disturbance. The teens then left in a burgundy-colored pickup.

1:35 p.m., Big Oak Flat A caller said a man was standing on the corner of School and Yates streets who opened a fire hydrant, then was cussing at and beating on the hydrant with a stick.

3:32 p.m., Groveland A man said 13 gallons of fuel were stolen from an airplane tied down at Pine Mountain Lake Airport between June 28 and July 7.

4:04 p.m., Rancho Sonora Estates A man saw four teenage boys shooting BB guns on West Walnut and Fallon Drive.

6:35 p.m., Quail Hollow A drop box on the side of a building belonging to the county social service office on Cedar Road was damaged.

7:21 p.m., Groveland area A Yosemite National Park ranger said the driver of a burgundy-colored car outran park rangers by driving 65 mph inside the park, headed toward Groveland. A be-on-the-lookout order was issued.

8:33 p.m., Mono Village A man on the 19000 block of Rockridge Way said a flashlight and about 100 CDs were stolen from his pickup during the last month.


3:15 a.m., Jamestown A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor drug violations after a traffic stop on Highway 108 at Fifth Avenue.

3:34 a.m., Jamestown A woman was seen doubled over on the 18100 block of Highway 108. A sheriff's sergeant talked to the woman, who said she had called for an ambulance more than two hours before, and it never showed up.

Felony bookings


12:01 a.m., Jamestown Sean Alan Hata, 34, no address, Jamestown, booked on suspicion of petty theft with prior convictions and misdemeanor theft and disorderly conduct after an arrest on the 10300 block of Preston Lane.

A clerk at the Whistle Stop said Hata stole three bottles of alcohol from the store. A deputy found Hata and arrested him. He remained in custody this morning in lieu of $10,000 bail.

4:15 p.m., Sonora Effie Donnella Williams, 33, 5000 block of China Town Main, Coulterville, booked on a warrant charging her with theft or embezzlement from an elder, welfare fraud and perjury after an arrest at the county jail. She was in custody on other matters and remained held this morning in lieu of $25,000 bail.

8:45 p.m., Jamestown Danielle Ann Harbin, 26, 1600 block of Radcliff Road, Modesto, booked on a Stanislaus County warrant charging her with receiving stolen property and violating probation after an arrest on Highway 108 at Jamestown Road during a traffic stop. She remained held in lieu of $50,500 bail.


1:24 a.m., Jamestown Teresa Lee Holt, 35, 3000 block of Salmon, Copperopolis, booked on a Tuolumne County warrant charging her with possessing a controlled substance, possessing drug paraphernalia and misdemeanor warrants from Stanislaus and Tuolumne counties charging her with failure to appear in court on drunken driving charges and driving with a license suspended for a previous drunken driving conviction.

Deputy Kelly Dickson stopped a vehicle for having excessive muffler noise and Holt was a passenger. When the deputy checked to see if either the driver or Holt were wanted, he discovered the warrants and arrested Holt. She remained held without bail this morning.

7:32 a.m., suspicious circumstances A caller said someone was sleeping in a car parked on the third floor of a parking lot on North Green Street.

9:17 a.m., traffic accident No one was injured in a traffic accident in the parking lot at Sonora Plaza on Mono Way.

12:42 p.m., traffic accident A man driving a Ford pickup ran into a gas pump at Corner Gas on Mono Way, damaging the gas hose, then drove off without accepting agreeing to pay for the damage.

3:29 p.m., public intoxication A 44-year-old man was arrested at Courthouse Park on North Washington Street on suspicion of public drunkenness after he was seen passed out on a park bench.

9:07 p.m., public intoxication A teenage boy, who was found drunk at Signature 10 movie theater, was taken to a Sonora hospital because he was incoherent. The boy's mother picked him up at the hospital.

9:26 p.m., animal complaints A woman was bitten on her face by a dog tied up in front of a fast food restaurant on South Washington Street. The woman knew the dog and thought the dog was friendly. The woman was treated at a Sonora hospital and the dog will be quarantined.

10:31 p.m., suspicious circumstances A woman with long, dark hair was said to be talking irrationally in front of a motel on Stockton Road.


1:08 a.m., suspicious circumstances An officer questioned a man who was dressed like a pirate on South Stewart Street.

1:16 a.m., hazardous situation An officer moved a metal bench found in the middle of North Washington Street.

9:19 a.m., West Point A boat on the 3000 block of Bald Mountain Road was vandalized.

10:13 a.m., Arnold A caller said Pooh Corner Preschool, on the 1300 block of Highway 4, was vandalized.


12:11 a.m., Murphys A woman on the 100 block of Jones Street said her neighbors' dog was tearing up her front yard, and that the neighbors were on vacation.

Felony bookings


3:19 p.m., Angels Camp An 18-year-old Angels Camp man was booked on suspicion of battery of a spouse or cohabitant and violently imprisoning the victim. He was arrested at his home. As of this morning, he remained in the county jail in lieu of $60,000 bail.
