One way to get water

archive_import

Brooke Canepa, 6, of Sonora finds an ingenious method of taking a drink from an adult-sized water fountain at Standard Park. Water, whether for drinking or swimming, will be a hot commodity the rest of this week. Temperatures are expected to reach the upper 90s in the foothills and might hit the low 100s at the lowest elevations of Tuolumne and Calaveras counties by Friday. The National Weather Service forecasts a cooling trend again starting Saturday, with foothills highs in the 70s and 80s through Tuesday.
