Creating a carnival

archive_import /

A handful of kids gathered yesterday to watch the setup of carnival rides in downtown Tuolumne. The 54th annual Tuolumne Lumber Jubilee starts at 5 p.m. today with the opening of the carnival. A $15 wrist band will entitle its wearer to unlimited rides tonight only. The bands will be sold at the carnival. Discount ride coupons for Friday, Saturday and Sunday are available at Tuolumne Frosty, Burns Refuse, Friends Coffee House and the Loggers Club or from Jubilee committee member Carol Southern at the jubilee. They are $5 for 14 ride coupons, about a 50-percent savings from the price at the carnival, said Southern. It costs more than one coupon per ride.
