6:57 a.m., Jamestown Stereo equipment and other items valued at $480 were stolen from a vehicle parked on the 18100 block of Sixth Avenue.

7:04 a.m., Twain Harte A man found a bicycle near a creek by Eproson Park.

7:24 a.m., Tuolumne A girl on the 18300 block of Hatler Drive said she found a snake inside her mailbox. She was not sure if it was alive.

7:46 a.m., Twain Harte area A PG&E employee said a company vehicle parked on Middle Camp Road was burglarized.

7:52 a.m., Jamestown A woman found 10 small barbecue-type propane tanks along the side of Green Springs Road. A deputy determined the tanks were empty.

7:58 a.m., Jamestown A woman on the 10300 block of Willow Street said her parked and covered car was broken into overnight, but nothing was taken.

8:40 a.m., Cedar Ridge A caller on the 24000 block of Lodge Way found an ax in front of the house and felt it was left there as a threat.

9:25 a.m., Jamestown A woman on the 10300 block of Willow Street said her vehicle was burglarized and the ignition damaged.

10:24 a.m., Wards Ferry A man said he saw a man dump a large pile of brush on the side of Old Wards Ferry Road. He gave the dumper's license plate number to a sheriff's deputy. The deputy found the driver, who said he was doing some cleanup work for another man and dumped the brush on the side of the road. The deputy contacted the employer about the situation.

10:43 a.m., Columbia A postal employee said a car battery was stolen from an employee's private vehicle parked behind the Columbia Post Office.

12:28 p.m., Tuolumne A man on Cottonwood Road said every time he drives past a neighbor, the neighbor makes obscene gestures at him.

12:42 p.m., Jamestown A man on the 16000 block of Cindy Court said his stolen vehicle was recovered in Arkansas and someone cashed one of his checks for $1,500.

1:17 p.m., Jamestown A woman on the 18200 block of Main Street said a wooden carving and flower sconce were stolen from her business.

1:54 p.m., Longeway Road area A woman said gasoline was siphoned from two vehicles parked on the 20500 block of Sunshine Road.

2:05 p.m., Jamestown A vehicle parked on the 17700 block of Black Bart Drive was burglarized.

2:20 p.m., Ridgewood Estates A man on the 21000 block of Heavenly Drive said kids riding dirt bikes were driving too fast.

4:30 p.m., Jamestown A woman on the 10300 block of Willow Street said stereo equipment and tools valued at $400 were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

4:41 p.m., Wards Ferry A man said he saw the occupants of three trucks dumping trash along Old Wards Ferry Road.

4:46 p.m., East Sonora Two callers said two men were fighting in front of a business on the 14800 block of Mono Way, apparently over a minor traffic accident.

5:25 p.m., Columbia The owner of McHenry's Emporium on the 22600 block of Parrotts Ferry Road said two necklaces were stolen.

5:32 p.m., Jamestown A woman on the 18200 block of Fourth Street said a Head Start vehicle was burglarized.

5:53 p.m., Phoenix Lake area A woman on Elizabeth Lane said a boy was riding a loud dirtbike nearby.

8:01 p.m., Jamestown A woman on the 10300 block of Preston Lane said a neighbor boy made threats toward her 3-year-old son.

8:57 p.m., Groveland A woman on the 11900 block of Valenta Way said a man tried to enter her home earlier in the day.

9:30 p.m., East Sonora A cab driver said he saw a man on Mono Way near Sanguinetti Road acting strange and trying to flag down passing cars.

10:12 p.m., Sonora area A man said his teenage son was assaulted while the boy was at a party on Uncle Toms Road earlier in the evening.

11:03 p.m., Tuolumne A woman on the 18000 block of Boden Hammer Avenue said someone rattled her front door and cut her phone lines.

Felony bookings


1:33 p.m., Columbia area Mary Ann Crowley, 45, 13800 block of Northridge Road, Sonora, booked on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance, assault with a deadly weapon, battery on a peace officer, forgery and possessing another person's identification for unlawful purposes. She was also booked on misdemeanor resisting arrest on Quail Mine Road.

Sonora Police detective Hal Prock said he saw Crowley driving a vehicle while he was investigating another case. Prock pulled Crowley over because she was wanted for questioning regarding a check-forgery case. Prock said when he identified himself, Crowley tried to drive away, and almost ran over him.

Prock said he reached into her car and got the key out of the ignition. Then Crowley started fighting the officer. He handcuffed the woman with the help of a passerby. Prock's finger was dislocated and cut during the scuffle.

During the fight, Prock said, Crowley threw a bag of methamphetamine down a hill. Prock said he searched Crowley's car where he found blank checks and another person's identification.

Crowley remained in custody this morning in lieu of $50,000 bail.

4:15 p.m., Sonora James Price Summers, 54, 14100 block of Tuolumne Road, Sonora, booked on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia after an arrest in a parking lot on Sanguinetti Road.

Deputies saw the driver of a car run a stop light and pulled the car over. Summers was a passenger in the car and he said it was OK for the deputies to search him. After a deputy found a glass smoking pipe in his pocket and two small bags of methamphetamine in his wallet, he was arrested.

Summers remained in custody this morning in lieu of $10,000 bail.

7:27 a.m., vehicle theft A gray Honda sedan was stolen from Hospital Road.

9:17 a.m., miscellaneous Grass clippings were dumped onto Orchard Avenue.

9:42 a.m., suspicious circumstances A caller said two men were sitting in a car parked on East Lyons Street and Greenley Road watching an inmate crew work in the cemetery. An officer talked to the men who were not doing anything wrong.

11:55 a.m., traffic accident A motor home parked on North Washington Street was hit by a passing car who did not stay around.

3:23 p.m., traffic accident No one was injured in a minor traffic collision in a parking lot at Sonora Crossroads shopping center.

2:15 p.m., assault A caller said three men jumped on and pulled a knife on another man on North Washington Street.

3:24 p.m., animal complaints A caller on East Lyons Street said a dog had been hanging out on her doorstep all day. An animal control officer picked up the dog.

4:37 p.m., animal complaints A woman on Shaws Flat Road said an injured dog was at her house. An animal control officer picked up the dog.

5:38 p.m., traffic violations A caller said two women in a burgundy car were yelling obscenities, "flipping people off" and throwing trash out of the vehicle while driving on South Washington Street.

8:06 p.m., public intoxication A 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication after an arrest on Mono Way. An employee saw the man with three bottles of liquor acting strange.

11:58 p.m., suspicious circumstances An officer spoke with three men pushing an empty grocery cart on South Stewart Street.


2:12 a.m., public intoxication Two men, ages 39 and 23, were arrested on suspicion of public intoxication after a cab driver said they tried to pick a fight with him.

2:52 a.m., suspicious circumstances An officer saw a car with flashing lights on and followed it to Sonora Community Hospital. The officer determined the car was being driven by a doctor on his way to deliver a baby.

10:45 a.m., Mono Vista area A vehicle fire was reported on Highway 108 at Sunshine Road. Damage was estimated at $20 to a rubber shift boot in the engine. A towel snagged under the transfer case caught fire, igniting the rubber shift boot. California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection and Tuolumne County Fire Department responded.

8:09 a.m., San Andreas A teen reportedly tried to steal a 12-pack of beer from a delivery truck parked on Highway 49.

8:12 a.m., San Andreas A man on the 200 block of Pope Street said his car was vandalized and items were stolen from it.

9:58 a.m., Valley Springs A house on the 6000 block of Hogan Dam Road was burglarized.

10:45 a.m., Arnold A caller found a bicycle at Lakemont Pines Lodge.

11:42 a.m., Mokelumne Hill A house on the 18400 block of Pine Tree Way was burglarized.

5:19 p.m., Valley Springs area A caller said his ATM card was stolen from the 11000 block of Wade Lane.

6:38 p.m., Murphys A caller on the 1600 block of Shelter Lane said a man refused to leave the property and instead broke a window at the house and had an altercation with the owner's chickens. The man was arrested on suspicion of causing a public disturbance.

11:39 p.m., Copperopolis A man on the 1000 block of Feather Court asked for a deputy to help remove a woman from his property.

8:21 a.m., Mokelumne Hill Christopher Alexander Morrison, 33, Newberry Court, Tracy, booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor warrants charging him with possessing drug paraphernalia, contempt of court and failure to appear after an arrest on Grap Road, Mokelumne Hill. No details were available. He remained in custody this morning in lieu of $50,000 bail.

9:50 a.m., Milton Christine Pearl Hubbs, 37, undisclosed address in Milton, booked on suspicion of possessing marijuana for sale after an arrest at her home. No details were available. She remained in custody this morning in lieu of $70,000 bail.
