A 3 1/2-year-old Utah boy was listed in good condition this morning after he was run over by a pickup truckduring Saturday's Mother Lode Roundup Rodeo.

Sonora Police Officer John Mager said this morning that Stetson Wright was taken by air ambulance to U.C. Davis Medical Center in Sacramento with injuries to his elbow, back, neck and head.

Mager said the boy was in the arena with his father, rodeo competitor Cody Wright from Milford, Utah, when the boy tripped and fell under the back wheel of a pickup driven by Tuolumne County Sheriff's Posse member Vern Gerdau.

Gerdau was removing rodeo items from the arena when the 5 p.m. accident occurred in front of the audience. Mager said Gerdau was going about 5 mph.

"It was purely an accident, and Gerdau was pretty shook up," Mager said.

Cody Wright was with his son when the accident occurred, and went with paramedics to a Sonora hospital, and when the boy was transferred to U.C. Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, where he remains.
