Steeple repairs

Bystanders watched as scaffolding went up around St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Sonora this week, extending 90 feet from ground level to the top of the church steeple. Brandi Construction is painting and repairing the steeple. Bob Bagley of Sonora Meadows, owner of Quality Scaffolding in Modesto, is building the scaffolding. Ed Brandi said it will take about a month to finish the painting and repairs. In the meantime, a fence surrounds the church. Masses will be celebrated in the parish hall next door until the work is finished, he said.
