Crash claims life of Vallecito man

A Vallecito man died Friday afternoon when his car rolled off Parrotts Ferry Road north of Camp Nine Bypass near Vallecito.

A California Highway Patrol report states Thomas Weddle, 51, was driving north on Parrotts Ferry Road north of Camp Nine Bypass, about 1:15 p.m. Weddle was rounding a gradual left-hand turn, and his Ford Focus drifted to the right, onto the east shoulder.

Weddle overcorrected to the left and lost control.

He veered into the southbound lane before going back across the road and over the east embankment, where his car rolled, the CHP reported.

CHP Officer Bryan Duquesnel said there was no indication from witnesses as to what might have caused Weddle to lose control of his car.

Weddle died at the scene.
