5:44 p.m., Jamestown A woman on the 18100 block of Highway 108 said a man wearing a baseball cap and white shirt is in front of a convenience store asking people for money and looking into cars.

5:56 p.m., Jamestown Road area A man on the 10600 block of Sunshine Hill Road said his girlfriend is throwing beer bottles and has a knife.

6:22 p.m., Big Hill A man on the 13300 block of Adelleana Lane said a man kicked him, threatened him and threw rocks at him during an argument over the caller's sister.

8:16 p.m., Sonora area A woman said while she and her children were at Funworks in Modesto, her son was accidentally hit in the face and has a bruise, and her daughter was hit in the eye. The woman was afraid the children's school would report a suspected abuse to child welfare services.

Felony bookings


1:15 a.m., Twain Harte Joseph Elton Johnson, 29, of Twain Harte, booked on suspicion of felony battery and making criminal threats after arrest at his home. Johnson's girlfriend said he hit her and threatened her. He remained in custody this morning in lieu of $35,000 bail.


12:05 a.m., Sonora Teresa Lee Holt, 34, 3000 block of Salmon, Copperopolis, booked on a warrant charging her with possessing a controlled substance and possessing it for sale, possessing ephedrine or pseudoephedrine, failure to appear, violation of probation and misdemeanor driving on a suspended license. Holt turned herself in at the county jail and remained in custody this morning in lieu of $35,000 bail.

Bradley Joseph Tuel, 30, 21600 block of Wasatch Mountain Drive, Sonora, booked at 3:40 a.m. yesterday after arrest on Highway 108 at Mono Way, Sonora.

John Walter Battiste, III, 37, 400 block of Stockton Road, Sonora, booked at 11:03 p.m. yesterday after arrest on Columbia Way at Washington Street, Sonora.

12:41 a.m., suspicious circumstances A person left a restaurant on the 1000 block of Mono Way without paying for a meal. A friend then paid for the meal, but wanted to press charges. An officer told the friend his dispute was a civil matter.

12:58 a.m., disorderly conduct A man said there was a fight in front of a bar on the 100 block of South Washington Street.

7:21 a.m., traffic accident A car parked on the 60 block of Dossi Way was struck by another vehicle overnight.

7:30 a.m., assault A woman at Inns of California on the 300 block of South Washington Street said several guests were fighting.

12:53 p.m., petty theft A teenage girl was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting from Save Mart on the 100 block of Stockton Road. She was cited and turned over to her probation officer.

2:04 p.m., assist A caller said black smoke coming from a burn pile on Sanguinetti Road and Old Wards Ferry Road indicates something illegal is being burned. The call was turned over to CDF.

5:04 p.m., threats A teenage boy was taken into custody after a caller said five teens were fighting on the 12800 block of Chukar Circle.

6:36 p.m., suspicious circumstances A woman on the 100 block of Stockton Road said a man in his 50s was drunk and making obscene gestures to the woman and other people.

9:45 a.m., Twain Harte A fire was reported to a 1991 Ford Explorer on the 18900 block of Twain Harte Drive. Damage was estimated at $2,500 to the engine compartment and cab. Roxanne Garcia of Twain Harte owns the vehicle. Twain Harte Community Services District Fire Department, California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection and Mi-Wuk-Sugar Pine Fire Protection District responded.

5 p.m., Jamestown A fire was reported to a 1984 El Dorado motorhome on the 18500 block of Fifth Avenue. Ken Bezore of Jamestown owns the home. Damage was estimated at $7,750. CDF, Jamestown Fire Protection District and Tuolumne County Fire Department responded.

6:20 p.m., Sonora A vehicle fire was reported on the 100 block of South Green Street. No dollar damage was reported. Sonora City Fire Department, CDF and Tuolumne County Fire Department responded.

7:10 a.m., West Point A caller on the 22600 block of Highway 26 said a woman is banging on the door threatening to break windows.

12:35 p.m., Arnold A caller on the 1000 block of Lilac Drive said a trampoline net and poles were damaged by neighbors.

7:41 p.m., Copperopolis A bathroom window at a house on the 2000 block of Yolo Court was vandalized.

9:29 p.m., Valley Springs A gas station employee said a man pumped gas then couldn't find money to pay for it. A deputy arrived and the man was able to find a $100 bill and paid for the gas.
