11:04 a.m., Jamestown area A Twin Oaks Drive man said he bought something on eBay and the item was not delivered. He was told to contact the online auction site.

12:47 p.m., Crystal Falls A man was reported dumping motor oil into a ditch off Rhine River Drive.

1:21 p.m., Jamestown A mini-mart on the 18100 block of Highway 108 reported a customer had passed a counterfeit bill.

1:40 p.m., Sonora A man came to the sheriff's office lobby to complain that "the people of Sonora are harassing him."

1:46 p.m., Twain Harte A disturbance call from the 22800 block of Highland Drive led to the arrest of a 47-year-old woman on a misdemeanor warrant.

2:05 p.m., Phoenix Lake area A caller from the 21500 block of Montgomery Road reported that his son, 18, is using marijuana, is "out of control" and has broken a window.

2:56 p.m., Sonora area Deputies were asked to be on the lookout for a man who stole a carton of cigarettes from a Mono Way mini-mart.

5:14 p.m., west county A heifer was shot and partially butchered on the 10800 block of Rock River Road.

5:44 p.m., Columbia A Green Street fight between three drunken men was reported, but ended before deputies arrived.

6:47 p.m., Ponderosa Hills A caller on the 20300 block of Canyonview Drive said items were taken from his house.

8:30 p.m., Columbia area A woman calling from the 21900 block of Sawmill Flat Road said her husband keyed her car, doing $1,500 damage.

9:21 p.m., Groveland area Teenagers "drinking and smoking pot" were reported at "the towers" on Merrell Road.

9:26 p.m., Standard area Furniture was reported stolen from a rental home on the 15100 block of Cavalieri Road.


1:14 a.m., Don Pedro The Mariposa County Sheriff's Office asked assistance in handling a burglary in progress on the 10400 block of Lozano Street.

Felony bookings


8:46 a.m., Sonora Mark Lance Rodriguez, 42, 100 block of North Shepherd Street, Sonora, booked on suspicion of battery and making terrorist threats after arrest at his home. According to a Sonora Police Department report, Rodriguez and a 53-year-old woman were in an argument that became physical. She was taken to a hospital. Rodriguez was held in lieu of $35,000 bail this morning.

10:10 a.m., Sonora Coreine Rae Dougherty, 37, 18500 block of Laurel Avenue, Tuolumne, booked on a Tuolumne County warrant charging her with passing a worthless check after turning herself in at the Tuolumne County Jail.

2:25 p.m., Sonora Clark Alexander Horton, 19, 13700 block of Big Hill Road, booked on a warrant charging him with probation violation after being ordered to jail by the Tuolumne County Superior Court.


1:10 a.m., Standard area Lisa Juliana Engle, 27, 18300 block of Hatler Drive, booked on suspicion of grand theft after arrest at her home. According to the sheriff's department, items reported stolen from a rental home at which Engle previously lived were found at her current residence. Engle was held in lieu of $5,000 bail this morning.

2:50 a.m., East Sonora Keith Michael Martin, 18, Willow Springs Drive, Soulsbyville, and Jesse Frank Gonzalez, 26, 21000 block of Phoenix Lake Road, Sonora, both booked on suspicion of burglary and of possessing stolen property after arrest on Highway 108 at Bergel Road. According to the sheriff's department, Sgt. Dan Bressler was on patrol when he heard a radio report of a car broken into on Soulsbyville Road. Some time later, he spotted a suspicious vehicle headed west on Highway 108. During a traffic stop of Martin and Gonzalez's car, Bressler found a flashlight and screwdriver on the front seat and the items that had been stolen from the Soulsbyville Road car, including a stereo, speakers, amplifier and other items. Anyone with further information on this case is asked to call Cpl. John Oliver at 533-5815. Martin and Gonzalez were each held in lieu of $15,000 this morning.

Eric Dwayne Brownfield, 24, 1600 block of South Cherokee, Lodi, booked at 6:43 a.m. yesterday after arrest at Green and Stockton streets in Sonora.

David Brian Scaruffi, 51, 12900 block of Red Wing Trail, Twain Harte, booked at 9 p.m. yesterday on Highway 108 east of Mono Way.

6:58 a.m., assault A woman said a man with a dark hooded jacket asked if she smoked, grabbed her rear and left on foot on Gold Street toward Stewart Street. The woman said the man did not "attempt anything else."

11:52 a.m., traffic accident A non-injury crash was reported on Mono Way.

7:24 p.m., suspicious circumstances A man on the 100 block of Steffen Way said he can hear noises in the brush in a vacant lot next to his house.

9:38 p.m., suspicious circumstances An officer checked on a vehicle on Greenley Road.

10:17 p.m., suspicious circumstances An officer checked on a vehicle on School Street.

11:18 p.m., suspicious circumstances An officer checked on a man on West Jackson Street.

1:08 p.m., Vallecito A caller said people on Camp Nine Road, three miles above Parrotts Ferry Road, were rolling boulders down on boaters.

1:36 p.m., San Andreas A purse and keys were found in bushes on the 100 block of West St. Charles.

1:45 p.m., Burson A ranger found underwear in front of a mine shaft near the south shore of Lake Camanche. They had been there so long a spider had built a nest in them.

3:40 p.m., Burson People suspected of being trespassers were cited on East Bay Municipal Utilities District land at the La Chaplana Bridge on Camanche Parkway East.

4:07 p.m., Angels Camp A man said stray cattle were in his yard on the 6600 block of Jaquima Street, and one was sick and acting strangely.

5:57 p.m., Valley Springs A man was arrested on suspicion of being intoxicated in public on the 100 block of California Street in Valley Springs.

5:47 p.m., San Andreas A person was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication after being released from the Mark Twain Hospital emergency room.

9:10 p.m., San Andreas A man on the 400 block of Marshal Road said juveniles keep coming onto his property to drink beer and party.


1:19 p.m., Angels Camp A sign was damaged on the 1100 block of Booster Way.

3:10 p.m., Valley Springs A burglary was reported to a residence on the 300 block of East Sequoia Way.

4:37 p.m., Angels Camp Men in an out-of-state vehicle parked in the back lot of a shopping center on the 200 block of South Main Street changed clothes, put their old clothes in a Dumpster and went for a walk around town.

5:01 p.m., Murphys A burglary was reported to Delta College property on the 9800 block of East Murray Creek Road.

5:11 p.m., San Andreas A caller said five men wearing masks and carrying sticks were walking down California Street in San Andreas.

7:13 p.m., Mountain Ranch A caller said one neighbor was throwing rocks at another neighbor's house on the 8500 block of Avenue A.

Felony bookings


9:23 a.m., San Andreas Michael Ray Stewart, 45, of the 800 block of Prussian Hill Road was booked on suspicion of felony parole violation after arrest on the 1200 block of Highway 49. He remained in custody without bail.


3:05 p.m., Burson A 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of battery on a spouse or cohabitant. He remained jailed this morning in lieu of $15,000 bail.


12:47 a.m., Copperopolis A 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of battery on a spouse or cohabitant, inflicting an injury upon a child and first-degree burglary. He remained in jail this morning in lieu of $170,000 bail.

4:30 a.m., Valley Springs Michael Edward Patenaude, 37, of the 900 block of St. Andrew Street, Rio Vista, was booked on suspicion of felony parole violation after being arrested on the main street of Valley Springs. He remained in custody this morning, held without bail.

7:55 p.m., Angels Camp A 19-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of battery on a spouse or cohabitant. She remained in jail this morning on $50,000 bail.
