Food, wine on tap at Twain Harte a la Carte

The 18th annual Twain Harte a la Carte, featuring wine tastings, gourmet food, raffles, a silent auction and a live auction, will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday in Meadow Plaza on Meadow Lane in Twain Harte.

Tickets for the event, sponsored by Soroptimist International of Twain Harte, are $35 each and include a commemorative wine glass.

Wines will be poured by Classic Wines, Young's Market, Southern Wines, J. Woods Winery, Gianelli Winery, Mt. Brow Winery, Renner Winery and Gallo Wines.

There will also be a selection of ciders from Indigeny Reserve and beer from Tioga Sequoia Brewing Co.

Food will be served by the Alicia's Sugar Shack, BenDe Farms, Black Oak Casino, China House of Twain Harte, El Jardin Restaurant, Revive Café and Coffee Roastery, Mia's Restaurant, the Rock of Twain Harte, Any Event, the Steam Donkey, Twain Harte Pizza Factory, Caffe Blossom, Eproson House Restaurant, McCaffrey House, Olivia's on the Green (Twain Harte Golf Course).

Proceeds benefit local charities and projects which include high school student scholarships, Twain Harte School projects, middle school self esteem workshops, community holiday food baskets, Twain Harte Kids Reach, Center for a Nonviolent Community, Girls' Circle at Twain Harte School, Holiday Shopping for Kids, Bears Service Club at Summerville High, Sober Graduation at Summerville High, Twain Harte Library, Women Honoring Women Veterans Annual Luncheon, Girls Circle at Twain Harte School and more.

Tickets can be obtained by calling Patt Koral at 928-1616 or by stopping by Umpqua Bank or El Dorado Savings Bank, both in Twain Harte.

Soroptimist International of Twain Harte is a nonprofit service organization and Twain Harte a la Carte is one of its two major fundraisers. The other is a crab dinner every January.
