The Calaveras Mentoring Foundation will present a new event, "Spring Swing,"at 6 p.m. Saturdayat Ironstone Vineyards in Murphys.
"Spring Swing," replacing the Calaveras Follies, will feature dinner and dancing to the big band sounds of Rod Harris and the Columbia Kicks Band. A live auction, treasure chest key raffle, live "jukebox" and a contemporary twist on "dime-a-dance" girls also will be featured.
Tickets are $75 for a multi-station buffet dinner and dancing, including demonstrations by local and visiting professional dancers who also will be "for hire" to teach or just dance with guests who want to look good on the dance floor.
Patrons also can "command the band" to play their favorite songs.
The live auction has attracted adventures including a four-night Sea Ranch getaway, one week in Punta Mita, Mexico, a four-day Rogue River trip for two, "Farm to Table" culinary adventure for eight and "Gourmet Underground" dinner party for eight.
And the lucky key-holder who unlocks the treasure chest will be off to Hawaii on a two-week dance-themed cruise for two.

Festivities will begin with a complimentary champagne reception donated by Ironstone. A multi-station 1950's-themed buffet will include stops like Bobby's Burger Barn, Bud's Spuds, and Delilah's Diner.
Local swing dancer Cari Westbrook and her partner Nick Hughes will get the party started with an exhibition dance. Volunteer dancers Colleen Dolan, Lauren Nicole, Lon and Garret Porter, and Paul Mundy will then dance with or give lessons to any attendee in exchange for a donation to the foundation.
The live auction will be led by Master of Ceremonies Dave Bowman.
The Calaveras Mentoring Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness and funds for youth mentoring in Calaveras County. The Calaveras Youth Mentoring Program, now celebrating its 10th anniversary, connects local youth with safe, positive mentors who offer friendship, opportunity, and support for making healthy life decisions.
