Sonora celebrates spring with free family festival

The City of Sonora will present its annual Sonora Spring Festival from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday along Washington Street in historic downtown Sonora.
The family fun day is free to the public.
Arts and craft vendors will line Washington Street and merchants will be hold prize drawings throughout the day.
Old time games, book signings, looney balloons and bug zoo also will be featured along with a hair and fashion show at the Sonora Opera Hall.
Revamp will host free recycled crafting in Coffill Park, where participants can make robots out of recycled materials.
Live music will be provided the Devil Mountain Boys, Kelly Flynn, Michael and Jeanne, Crawford Perkes Band, Sandy Shoor, John Watson, Richard "Tater" Learned and the Fiddle Gang.
Additional entertainment will include Mountain Motion juggling, Gold Rush storyteller Hardluck Lin and the Tuolumne County Time Travelers.
The Sierra Saints will display their motorcycles and the Tuolumne County Recreation Department will offer "Fun On Wheels" children's activities.
"Come join the fun as Sonora swings into spring," said Sheala Wilkinson, the city's special programs coordinator.
