The youth football season begins Saturday with the Tuolumne County Cowboys taking park in the Mother Lode Youth Athletic Conference's annual Jamboree at Amador High School in Sutter Creek.
The Cowboy varsity will be in action at both 9:30 a.m. and noon, the junior varsity at 12:30 and 3 p.m. and the bantam team at 3:30 and 6 p.m.
The regular season begins Aug. 31 against Linden at Sonora High's Dunlavy Field.
The Cowboys play Union Mine in El Dorado on Sept. 7, Calaveras in San Andreas on Sept. 14, Amador at Sonora on Sept. 21, Bret Harte at Sonora on Sept. 28, at Lodi on Oct. 12, at Linden on Oct. 19, Calaveras at Sonora on Oct. 26, at Amador on Nov. 2 and Union Mine at Sonora on Nov. 9.
In all cases except the Union Mine and Calaveras road games, the varsity will play at 10 a.m., the JV at noon and the bantams at 2 p.m. In the other cases, the bantams play at 3 p.m., the JV at 5 and the varsity at 7.
